Jakarta – The transition process of government from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to elected President Prabowo Subianto is considered the best in Indonesia’s history. The Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Budi Arie Setiadi, emphasized that this process is running smoothly and receiving full support from the public. “This is the best government transition, seamless.” “The people fully support Prabowo-Gibran who will continue the leadership of Mr. Jokowi,” said Budi Arie.
In the last session, President Jokowi instructed the ministers to maintain the stability of the country ahead of the inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran on October 20, 2024. Jokowi urged all members of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (KIM) to fully support the incoming new government and to ensure that public services continue to operate smoothly during the transition period. “The President emphasized the importance of making this transition effective so that public services are not disrupted, and the necessary regulations must be completed promptly so that the new government can start working immediately,” said Budi Arie.
In addition, Jokowi also requested the TNI, Polri, and the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) to actively oversee this transition process, considering the importance of maintaining order and security. “The role of TNI-Polri is crucial in maintaining order ahead of the inauguration and the upcoming regional elections,” explained Budi Arie.
Political observer from the Open University, Insan Praditya Anugrah, also expressed a positive view regarding the smoothness of this transition. According to him, a good relationship between Jokowi and Prabowo is a key factor. “A good relationship between Jokowi and Prabowo is believed to facilitate the transition of government moving forward,” he said.
Insan also mentioned that the sustainability narrative promoted by Prabowo-Gibran will facilitate the synchronization of ongoing government programs with the new vision they will carry. “A transition team led directly by Prabowo is necessary to align policy directions and ensure that the new government can work effectively right away,” said Insan.
With this good transition process, it is hoped that the Prabowo-Gibran administration can continue Jokowi’s important programs, including the completion of the Nusantara Capital project and other strategic challenges. “This is not just a symbolic formality, but rather full support for the incoming president in carrying out the government moving forward,” concluded Insan.
