As a religious tertiary institution, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has the additional task of spreading moderate Islam. Namely, the teachings of Islam that recognize diversity, diversity, and instill the values of Pancasila to students.
Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Prof. Yudian said, we will continue to promote Pancasila in all fields of life as a nation and state including in our campus environment. Of course this is to ward off acts of terrorism and radicalism in Indonesia.
Yudian added, students need to get lecture material on the values of diversity, diversity, and Pancasila. Therefore, the three sciences which form the foundation of the Indonesian state are in line with moderate Islamic teachings.
Yudian explained, UIN Sunan Kalijaga with the Study Center and National Defense fully supported the Pancasila sinau program to the community. If for students from the beginning we introduce moderate religion and culture, Islamic relations with Pancasila are introduced.
Yudian said, actually religion can be used as a reinforcement of Pancasila. Because, the teachings of Islam are in accordance with Pancasila. So, it needs to be taught at various levels of formal education.
He explained, the Sinau Pancasila program could fortify the public from understanding terrorism and radicalism.
What does Indonesia need in the future to become a Pancasilais? Yudian warned, there must be no more wild religious movements. Because, there is already a consensus that all elements of a diverse nation must have agreed with Pancasila.
Yudian explained, religion and Pancasila should not be clashed. We need to manifest a religious attitude, with the nuances of important localities being taught.
Chairperson of Commission A of the DPRD DIY, Eko Suwanto said, currently there is a need to confront terrorism and radicalism. The DIY government has the responsibility of conducting education and socialization to the public about Pancasila. Through the Pancasila sinau program to 78 districts in DIY, it will run again in 2020 with the target of a millennial group of 7,800 people.
Many state agents are needed to spread the understanding of Pancasila. The Pancasila Sinau Program needs support, including the right method for millennial generation. By involving UIN Sunan Kalijaga who has moderate Islamic ideas to help curriculum design, the Pancasila Study Center from UGM and various other universities are expected to be able to instill the values of Pancasila to students.
