CIDISS. Campaign debate event organized by the Election Commission becomes a platform for candidate pairs to present their vision and mission, as well as their quality in performing in public. However, this event is also prone to conflict between supporters because all sympathizers gathered together in one location. In fact, even a small thing is feared can be a trigger to create conflict between candidate pairs that can impact long until the end of the election of regional heads in the region.
After the election debate of Governor and Vice Governor of West Java 2018, the tension of competition between candidate pairs is still heating up. After examining the candidate for Governor and Vice Gunermur number three, namely Sudrajat – Ahmad Syaikhu, the Election Supervisory Board also examined TB Hasanuddin – Anton Charliyan. The pair of Sudrajat – Ahmad Syaikhu was examined for displaying a T-shirt that essentially conveyed that the 2019 replaces the President if the couple wins in the West Java Governor Election 2018, when the candidate is conducting a debate. Meanwhile, the couple TB Hasanudin – Anton Charliyan diperksa for carrying the name of President Joko Widodo in the debate.
Related to this, Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency, Harminus Koto said it is still collecting evidence related to violations committed pair TB Hasanuddin – Anton Charliyan. For that, he did not want to wonder if what sanctions will be applied if the couple is proven guilty. It should be noted, however, that all sanctions depend on the high and low offenses committed.
Related cases that dragged him, candidate for deputy governor Anton Charliyan stated that he and TB Hasanuddin did not violate any regulations. This is because all candidate pairs in the election of Governor and Vice Governor of West Java 2018 entitled to mention the name of President Joko Widodo because he belongs to all the people of Indonesia. On the other hand, the context of the mention is spoken not in the presidential election campaign.
Apart from this problem, the election of Governor and Vice Governor of West Java 2018 is one of the election of regional head with high political dynamics so that enough seize the attention of society. Not only in the area itself, but also people outside West Java. If the organizers are able to succeed the election of West Java Governor 2018, then it is possible that this success will be the trigger for other regions to work optimally so that the election in the region will also be successful.
