Ahead of the Opening of the 2023 AIS Forum Summit, the Indonesian Government is Optimizing Preparations

Bali – The government through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) ensures the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure ahead of the opening of the 2023 Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit (Summit).

“Kominfo ensures that telecommunications services are smooth and of good quality without any disruption before and during the 2023 AIS Forum Summit. “We are preparing monitoring and providing adequate digital infrastructure,” stressed the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, in Jakarta.

Minister Budi Arie stated that the Directorate General of Post and Information Resources and Equipment at the Ministry of Communication and Information continues to monitor the radio frequency spectrum that supports telecommunications services in collaboration with national telecommunications service providers.

“To ensure that the telecommunications network during the AIS Forum Summit runs smoothly, both for delegation needs and for media purposes,” he said.

Likewise, the Director General of Information and Public Communication at the Ministry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong, explained that various mitigation measures have been prepared to anticipate obstacles that might occur, including if there is a disruption or breakdown of the network or communication jamming.

Furthermore, regarding the media center, Usman Kansong, said that the 2023 AIS Forum Summit media center will be equipped with computer facilities, internet access, stand up position for TV stations, medical room, press conference room, media lounge, information center, large screen, to shuttle buses as a means of transportation for journalists during the event.

“The Media Center also prepares and distributes press releases in two languages ​​(Indonesian and English), photos and videos, press briefings, and various materials needed by reporting journalists,” explained Usman.

In addition to the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure, the National Police is also holding Operation Tribrata Agung in order to secure the 2023 AIS Forum Summit.

In this security, the National Police deployed 4,083 personnel, with details of 1,863 personnel from the National Police Headquarters and 2,220 personnel from the Bali Regional Police.

Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Operation Tribrata Agung, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the National Police was holding Operation Tribrata Agung 2023 for 6 days starting from 8-13 October 2023 in the jurisdiction of the Bali Regional Police, especially at the AIS Summit activity site.

“This operation prioritizes preemptive and preventive activities supported by law enforcement, cyber, Interpol and public relations in the context of maintaining security and social order to ensure security during the implementation of the AIS Summit,” said Ramadhan.

For your information, Indonesia has been asked to host the 2023 AIS Summit which carries the theme “Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation for Our Ocean and Our Future.

“The agenda for the meeting will focus on three important aspects, namely blue economy development, the challenge of climate change and strengthening solidarity between island countries and archipelagos,” he concluded. (*)
