In the planting season on October-March 2015/2016, Department of agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry of Barito Utara Regency, Central Kalimantan develops chilli with drip irrigation system.
This system is a system of agriculture with a stream of water through a hose or pipe, where the chilli plants cultivated using the hose the water stream.
The chief of the Department of agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry of Barito Utara devoted Gratitude, reveals that this chilli plant development is one of the Government programs through changes in STATE BUDGET by 2015 with the help of which the tools of agricultural machinery for planting chillies with intensive cultivation system of drip irrigation. This cultivation is big and small chillies.
“This farm System, aiming to let chilli production results in Barito Utara. The farmers can be increased the expected of selling price of chilli at the level of the market which is not too expensive,” he said, as quote in Antara kalteng (27/10/2015).
In addition to the development of the production of large and small chillies, Department of agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry of Barito Utara also made efforts to increase agricultural production of corn and soybeans. (*)
