Terror is a form of cruelty that wants to paralyze the guts of the public in affirming the values of virtue in the political process. The more cruel the form of cruelty, the more effectiveness in paralyzing the guts of society.
But the terror of public officials or officials has an unending range of implications on matter. Although the mastermind behind the terror of the apparatus was unaware of it, the serious implication of such terrorism was the collapse of democratic buildings fought with blood and tears.
That is the speculation that could be drawn from the tragedy of water splashing to the face of the Corruption Eradication Commission investigator (KPK) Novel Baswedan by criminals who are now being cursed by all sane people.
The sprinkler must be a cauldron who carries orders from a higher criminal who is being threatened by the KPK’s work that has been fulfilled satisfactorily by the investigator.
President Joko Widodo immediately cast a curse against the terror act. All social media conversations crystallize to declare that the police should arrest the watering agent.
Cyber citizens share analytics that the terror against the KPK can be assumed to be done by those who feel threatened by the persistence and expertise of KPK investigators in handling corruption cases.
The brightly public logic is: Novel Baswedang is handling a gigantic corruption scandal of an electronic identity card (KTP) worth Rp2.3 trillion.
Thus the terror is intended to stop the investigation of corruption cases. However, KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo was quick to issue a statement after the terror of Novel Baswedang that the KPK is not afraid and will continue handling corruption cases, including corruption of electronic ID cards that may be dragging influential politicians.
In finding the watering agent, the police may find it difficult to find the criminal. At least, not as easy as arresting terrorists who do not involve many politicians as a mastermind of terror. It’s not as easy as finding a villain who kills one family’s life.
Why is that? Because it is very likely there will be a power in the institutional system that will play to block work in the search for the KPK officer’s apparatus.
No matter how hard the work found the harsh sprinklers, the public still demanded that the police be able to find the criminals. Thankfully, the mastermind behind the watering was also revealed.
Do not get the guts of the blazing corruption eradicator out of balance with the protection of those threats of terror that might befall them.
Continuity of protection and guarding of the corruption eradication apparatus must be a permanent program of the police. Sneaky attitude or loosen up their guard will be a gap for criminals who will terrorize them.
The public, as read in social media conversations, does not seem to mind if the corruption eradication apparatus is provided with facilities that can be used to defend themselves against an assault similar to that experienced by Novel Baswedan.
