ITB Chancellor Ahmad Dahlan Dr. Mukhaer Pakkanna, SE., MM said that higher education institutions must make a real contribution to society, especially in the midst of world conditions that are struggling to deal with pandemics and conflicts whose impact is felt by all countries.
Mukhaer assessed that the G20 meeting in Bali was an important and historic moment for Indonesia to deal with these conditions.
“This meeting of world leaders at the G20 is very important and will be a historic record of how we as part of the world community play an active role in contributing to providing solutions for our better world,” said Mukhaer.
Mukhaer added that Indonesia’s position in the current crisis situation is that it has the capital to exert influence on the world stage because it is the G20 presidency.
“Indonesia is quite successful in promoting and capitalizing on its chairmanship. Already able to speak and be respected in a global context,” added Mukhaer.
While the influence of the G20 presidency on the economy, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani also expressed a commitment to the finance ministers of the G20 members to solve the challenges of the global economy that continues to increase and focus on more tangible progress.
“All parties must go further and need to take real action by showing the spirit of cooperation, collaboration and consensus. This can make history that with togetherness, all parties can overcome global challenges,” said Sri Mulyani when attending the 4th Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20) member countries.
Responding to these global challenges, G20 member countries are committed to well-calibrated, planned and well-communicated policies to support sustainable recovery. (*)
