The public is advised to limit mobility during the year-end holidays. This needs to be carried out to prevent the increase in transmission of positive cases of Covid-19 due to the Omicron variant.
The government through the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) stated that it was serious about implementing restrictions on community mobility during the 2021 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period. Although, people were not prohibited from doing mobility.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said that we have to limit it upstream and downstream. Upstream restrictions are in the form of policies against state civil servants (ASN) who are prohibited from taking leave. Then, limiting activities in various sectors to closing schools.
According to Adita, upstream restrictions are important because people have a trend of traveling at the end of the year. Tourist destinations are not only places that have managers. But also those who do not have managers such as nature tourism. So there is a potential for accumulation and must be tightened upstream.
Meanwhile, downstream restrictions are carried out if the community is already moving. These efforts are in the form of tightening health protocols (Prokes) and more massive supervision. Adita also explained that during Nataru there would be random checking posts in collaboration with the police.
The post serves to ensure that people meet travel requirements. For example, the discipline of health protocols to proof of complete vaccination. Including aspects of vehicle safety and airworthiness will also be carried out. Even though confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been sloping, it doesn’t mean that health protocols can be ignored.
On a different occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Cirebon, Dra. Hj. Eti Herawati, asked that the preparedness ahead of Nataru could be improved. Especially for the implementation of health protocols (Prokes) because until now the Covid-19 pandemic is still happening.
The spread of Covid-19 must still be controlled, especially ahead of Naru which is synonymous with holiday activities with family. For this reason, a number of strategies need to be carried out to continue to limit community mobility and invite the public to always comply with health protocols.
Based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021 and Circular of the Minister of Religion Number 33 of 2021, the City of Cirebon has implemented restrictions on community activities as stated in the Circular of the Mayor of Cirebon Number 443/SE. 126-PEM.
Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Cirebon City, Drs. H. Agus Mulyadi, M.Sc., explained that on December 24 and 31, 2021, all business, social, cultural and tourism operational activities are open until 22.00 WIB. Mobility control is carried out by screening and Prokes starting on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December 2021 and continued on 1 to 2 January 2022.
In addition, odd-even enforcement will be carried out on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December 2021 and 1 – 2 January 2022 with provisions on Friday starting at 15.00 WIB until 21.00 WIB. While on Saturday and Sunday from 08.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB.
It should be noted that the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) has issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 440/7183/SJ regarding the Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 Omicron Variant and Enforcement of the Use of Care Applications. The circular, which was signed by the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, on December 21, 2021, was addressed to regional heads throughout the country.
He asked the Regional Heads to intensify restrictions on community activities by optimizing the function of the Covid-19 handling task force in each environment, both at the provincial, district/city, sub-district, urban and village levels as well as neighborhood units (RT)/Rukun Warga (RW). ) by carrying out functions such as prevention, handling, coaching and support for the implementation of handling Covid-19.
In addition, Tito also asked that regional heads throughout Indonesia could coordinate with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and other stakeholders including religious leaders, community leaders, community organizations, administrators of places of worship, hotel managers, tourist attractions managers, managers of places of worship. shopping centers and business actors as well as other parties deemed necessary in accordance with the characteristics of each region in the context of prevention and enforcement of discipline in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.
The public must of course comply with various policies that have been issued by the Government. Don’t let non-compliance with these various regulations increase positive cases, especially since the Omicron variant has arrived in Indonesia, so vigilance must be maintained.
