The Job Creation Law is a law that continues to receive demonstrations from students and workers. Those who rallied emotionally and forgot that it was still a pandemic. Even though the demo could cause a new corona cluster. Do you want to get the covid-19 virus just because you are desperate to demonstrate?
People mess around with demonstrations and demonstrations again. After the demonstration as well as the mass strike on 6-8 October 2020, there were further demonstrations on 13 and 28 October. Workers will also demonstrate again on November 2, 2020 because workers promised to continue demonstrating until the Work Creation Law was withdrawn by the Indonesian Parliament. Sadly, they demonstrated only because they were consumed by hoaxes.
Even though in his official speech, President Jokowi has explained about hoaxes in the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law. Some fake news has been straightened out. In fact, he invited the public to file a lawsuit or judicial review directly at the level of the Constitutional Court, if they were not satisfied with the articles in the Job Creation Law.
However, there are still some who are stubborn and plan demonstrations. Even though it is clear that this activity is strictly prohibited and does not receive permission from the police. Because currently it is still a pandemic, so a demonstration that presents thousands of people can create a new corona cluster.
Doctors are also worried about the demonstration. According to Doctor Adib Khumaidi, Head of the Mitigation Team for the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association, the potential for a surge in corona cases during the demonstration occurred because someone removed a mask during a speech. Besides, they couldn’t keep a distance within a 2 meter radius. So that it further increases the risk of contracting the covid-19 virus.
Doctor Adib continued, in the demonstration the spread of droplets could occur when the protesters sang to speak their hearts out. Instead of getting sympathy, they risked their lives because they could contract the corona virus. In addition, demonstrations bring thousands of people together, and they return to their regions with the potential for covid-19 transmission.
When hundreds of demo participants were invited by the authorities to carry out a rapid test, there were 12 people who tested positive for corona. These are only hundreds of people, there are still many other demonstrators who have escaped testing and do not know whether they have contracted the Covid-19 virus or not. After the demonstration, all you got was fatigue and the potential to get corona, like putting yourself in a crocodile hole.
The post-demo tracing process will be very difficult because the ID cards of the demonstrators may be different from their domicile addresses, because they only stay in Jakarta. If it has spread, it will be very difficult to trace the OTGs and they suddenly become seriously ill. If you have this, when can the pandemic end, if people don’t want to be orderly and obey health protocols?
Indeed, after the demonstration they did not feel any symptoms of shortness of breath or loss of smell, as a sign of contracting the virus. According to Doctor Wiku, a spokesperson for the covid task force team, in 2 to 4 weeks afterwards, symptoms of illness and suddenly positive for corona were seen. What if it is not resolved immediately? Could be helpless and lose his life.
When 1 OTG is hit, it will affect the family and the immediate environment, because they may show reactive results when tested for rapid or swab. In addition, the virus can also spread when demonstrators take off their masks while eating at stalls or sipping drinks at minimarkets. Do you want to infect many people and harm their health?
There should be no further demonstrations because it is not the right step to convey aspirations. If you really don’t agree with the Job Creation Law, just file a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court. When there are protests again, it will invite the Covid-19 virus into itself and spread it to many people.
