Previously, the Chairperson of the Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Habib Ali bin Muhammad Aljufri expressed concern over the clash that occurred at PT GNI. According to him, this could have a negative impact on the economy of the local community.
“After all, investment activities have benefits for the community. Even though there was damage – damage caused by the incident,” he said.
In line with this, the Kolonodale Urban Village Head, M. Yamin Bagenda said that his party deeply regretted the worker clashes that occurred at PT GNI. He hoped that this would not happen again because it had an impact on the local community.
“Because the presence of the mining company PT GNI greatly influences the community’s economy, such as the market, revives the market, and MSMEs, as well as other businesses,” said Yamin.
“Our hope is that things like this will not happen again in the future. All can be communicated well. So that it runs smoothly and we, as the government and the community in Colondale, feel the impact of the presence of PT GNI in our area,” he added.
Separately, the Bahontula Urban Village Head, Budi Tangko, revealed that he and the community support PT GNI’s investment in North Morowali Regency. So he also regretted the clash tragedy that had previously occurred.
