The government of President Prabowo Subianto ensures the sustainability and security of investment in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) as a top priority in the national development agenda. Since the beginning of his administration, President Prabowo has emphasized the importance of maintaining investor confidence by creating a stable, transparent, and profitable investment climate. This step is in line with the vision of the previous government which has laid the foundation for development in the region.
The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, at the end of his term, reminded investors not to doubt President Prabowo’s commitment to the development of the IKN. He said that President Prabowo had given full support for the acceleration of infrastructure in the core government area.
The focus of IKN development until the end of this year is directed at completing basic infrastructure such as roads, clean water systems, and electricity supply. Meanwhile, infrastructure outside the government area will begin work early next year, giving a strong signal to investors that the continuity of this project is guaranteed by the government.
The government’s commitment is not only reflected in the acceleration of development, but also in efforts to provide legal certainty for business actors. Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority (OIKN), Agung Wicaksono, explained that investors in the IKN will receive clear legal rights and long-term protection.
One of the main policies to ensure investment security is the granting of Building Use Rights (HGB) for 80 years, with the opportunity for extension according to applicable regulations. In addition, all investor rights and obligations will be recorded through an official notary deed, ensuring transparency and security in the investment process.
In the context of accelerating development, President Prabowo’s government is also targeting the creation of a conducive investment ecosystem. Agung Wicaksono explained that the regulations implemented are designed to simplify the licensing process, so that investment in the IKN becomes more attractive. This step is supported by cross-sector synergy aimed at creating a competitive business environment, while ensuring that investment benefits can be felt by all parties involved.
The government also continues to strengthen the legal basis for the development of the IKN to ensure the sustainability of this project, regardless of the change in leadership. The Middle Expert Budget Analyst of the Directorate of Investment and Ease of Doing Business of the OIKN, Marwan Riyandi, stated that the IKN was built based on a solid Law, namely Law Number 3 which was later updated to Law Number 21. In addition, various government regulations accompanying this development provide legal certainty for all parties involved.
Marwan also emphasized that the existence of the legal umbrella is key to maintaining the trust of entrepreneurs and investors. Although there are concerns from several business actors about the possibility of policy changes after the change of leadership, the government ensures that all parties remain committed to maintaining the sustainability of the IKN development. With a strong legal basis, investors are expected to feel confident to continue contributing to this strategic project.
Concerns about the security of investment in the IKN, which were expressed by a number of entrepreneurs, have also received serious attention from the government. In public dialogue, several business actors questioned the government’s concrete steps to ensure the sustainability of this project amidst the change in leadership.
Responding to this question, the government emphasized that the commitment to the development of the IKN is not only a short-term policy, but also part of a long-term vision to create equitable development throughout Indonesia.
President Prabowo understands the importance of investor trust as the foundation for the success of this project. Therefore, the government continues to build open dialogue with business actors, provide guarantees for their rights, and convey the latest developments related to the development of the IKN. This strategy aims to create synergy between the government and the private sector, so that the success of the IKN project can be achieved together.
In addition, OIKN is also committed to providing easy access to information for investors, including regarding investment opportunities available in IKN. The OIKN Deputy emphasized that all administrative and licensing processes are carried out transparently to ensure that there are no obstacles in project implementation. The government has even prepared various incentives for investors interested in getting involved in the development of this area, both through the development of physical infrastructure and other projects that support the vision of IKN as a city of the future.
Investment security in the IKN is also guaranteed through close coordination between the central and regional governments. The government is trying to create policy alignment so that development in this area can run smoothly. This step not only provides certainty for investors, but also opens up job opportunities for local communities, which will ultimately drive economic growth in the region.
With a comprehensive and transparent approach, President Prabowo Subianto’s government seeks to make the IKN the center of sustainable development in Indonesia. This project not only reflects the vision of equitable development, but also symbolizes the government’s courage in creating significant structural changes. The sustainability and security of investment offered in the IKN are expected to attract more investors, strengthen the national economy, and bring long-term benefits to all Indonesian people.
