JAKARTA – In an effort to strengthen the national economy, the government of President Prabowo Subianto is increasingly maximizing the digitalization approach to support the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) plays an active role in providing full support for MSMEs so that they can adopt digital technology that can increase the competitiveness and productivity of their businesses.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, explained that his party has run various mentoring programs and provided digital infrastructure for MSMEs. This is done as part of the government’s strategy to encourage digitalization in the MSME sector which is expected to strengthen the national economy amidst increasingly tight global competition.
“We also provide mentoring, and collaborate with several institutions for UMKM Level Up. There are also workshop programs, 1on1 business coaching training to strengthen UMKM business plans,” said Nezar.
Through business guidance and workshops, the government helps MSMEs develop more mature business plans so they can utilize digital technology to increase efficiency and productivity.
The digitalization program run by the government is not only focused on developing technological infrastructure, but also targets the development of digital talent among MSMEs. With increased digital skills, MSMEs are expected to be able to develop more innovative products and services, so that they can compete in the digital market both domestically and internationally.
In addition, the digitalization approach also allows MSMEs to maximize online marketing and promotion strategies, facilitate wider market access, and increase interaction with consumers.
Ika Maharani, General Manager and Co-founder of Privilege Creative, a marketing agency that focuses on developing MSME businesses, stated the importance of integration between offline and online marketing in facing the digital era.
“With an approach that integrates offline and online marketing, Privilege Creative provides comprehensive marketing solutions that are relevant to various types of businesses. Through various data-based strategies and approaches, we are committed to helping MSMEs find a sustainable growth path in an increasingly competitive market,” said Ika.
Through cooperation with various parties, including training institutions and marketing agencies, the government hopes that MSMEs can reach the “Level Up” stage or a significant increase in their business capacity. This program not only helps improve digital skills, but also equips MSMEs with data-based business strategies that can be applied in marketing and business development.
With this effort, President Prabowo’s government is targeting MSMEs in Indonesia to not only be able to survive, but also grow rapidly and compete in the global market. It is hoped that the development of the MSME sector through digitalization can be one of the important pillars in driving the national economy and creating job opportunities for the community. (*)
