President Prabowo’s Government’s Commitment to Developing Papua as a National Food Production Center

Papua – The government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto has shown its strong commitment to making Papua a national food production center. This step is in line with the government’s vision to strengthen Indonesia’s food security and encourage sustainable development in eastern Indonesia. The Papuan people, especially in Merauke, welcomed this program with great hope and support.

Papuan Youth Figure, Paulinus Ohee, emphasized that the Papuan people fully support this strategic step by the government. “The government’s commitment to making Papua a national food barn, of course, as Papuans we support it. There are three main goals that we must achieve, namely the development of the agricultural sector, agricultural modernization, and the development of agricultural land,” said Paulinus. He added that the Merauke region has great potential to become a national food center because of its abundant natural resource wealth.

According to Paulinus, it is important for the Papuan people to realize and synergize with the government in supporting this development. “We must synergize with the government’s commitment to developing Papua, especially the national food barn. This is very important for national food availability and our readiness to supply to all regions in Indonesia,” he explained.

Great hopes were also expressed for the success of this program. “If Merauke succeeds in becoming one of the national food barns, this will certainly have a positive impact. First, increasing food production; second, achieving food self-sufficiency; and third, opening up more job opportunities for local communities,” said Paulinus. He is optimistic that the synergy between the Papuan people and the central government will be able to realize this dream.

With the great potential that Merauke has and the full support of the local community, the national food barn program in Papua is expected to not only strengthen Indonesia’s food security but also have a positive impact on social and economic development in the region. Paulinus Ohee invited all Papuan people to continue to support the government’s commitment for mutual progress.

“We must unite and ensure that this commitment runs well. The government has shown real steps, now it is our turn as Papuan people to provide full support so that Papua can become the center of national food security,” concluded Paulinus enthusiastically.
