Proof of President Prabowo’s Commitment to the IKN, Garuda Palace and Presidential Secretariat Building Almost Complete

Penajam — The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan has shown significant progress as concrete evidence of President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to realizing a new, modern and integrated center of government.

Monumental projects such as the Garuda Palace and the Presidential Secretariat Building (Setpres) are now almost complete with construction progress reaching more than 95 percent.

The Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force and Acting Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure of the IKN Authority, Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, stated that several main projects in the Core Government Center Area (KIPP) will soon be inaugurated.

“In the near future, at the end of 2024 or at the latest early 2025, these projects will be ready to be inaugurated,” said Danis.

In addition to the Garuda Palace and the Presidential Secretariat Building, other facilities such as the Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST) and the PSSI Training Center are also ready to follow.

Quantitatively, the progress of infrastructure development in the Indonesian Capital City is divided into three batches.

According to Danis, Batch I has reached 94.4 percent, Batch II is at 69.5 percent, and Batch III recorded 23.9 percent.

Meanwhile, a number of private and state-owned enterprise-funded investment projects are also being accelerated, including the construction of Swissotel Nusantara, Hermina Hospital, and the Bank Indonesia (BI) office complex.

Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Affairs, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, emphasized that the eighth President of the Republic of Indonesia is targeting the completion of the construction of the IKN in the next 4 to 5 years.

“IKN is expected to be the center of activities of the three pillars: executive, legislative, and judiciary,” said Agus.

To date, the executive pillar has been realized through the construction of the State Palace, Garuda Palace, and other institutional buildings.

Agus said the development of other pillars would soon follow, including supporting facilities such as housing for ASN and other supporting infrastructure.

Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, underlined President Prabowo Subianto’s direction during the Red and White Cabinet retreat.

“The president wants all core infrastructure to be completed in 3-4 years. In addition, legislative and judicial buildings must also be prepared,” Prasetyo explained.

This directive reflects President Prabowo’s strong determination and commitment to making the Indonesian capital a symbol of progress and pride for Indonesia.
