Homecoming is a ritual awaited by most people who migrate, but not all people can do the homecoming culture because they have to keep working during Eid, one of which is an electrician who must ensure that the energy supply is maintained to keep flowing into the houses.
The National Electricity Company (PLN) has stated its readiness to supply electricity to all corners of the archipelago during the Lebaran period. It has projected that the condition of 22 national electricity systems up to May and June 5 and 6 2019 is generally in a safe condition with several systems in standby condition and no system in a position of power deficit.
Central Java Regional Business Director PT PLN, Amir Rosidin, said that the electricity condition on Eid al-Fitr on June 5 – 6 2019 was in a safe status and there were no blackouts.
“All regions in Indonesia are safe, there are no blackouts, there are indeed some whose reserves are below 30 percent, but overall we are ready,” he said.
Amir also stated that the peak load in the Java-Bali System averaged around 10,000 MW. To make efficiency and facilitate regulation, some of the plants will also be reserve shutdown.
“Some of our plants will be forced to shut down so that we have no difficulty in adjusting the frequency and also making efficiency. But we keep guarding so that the reserves are sufficient, “Amir said.
PLN has also made a number of efforts to ensure the readiness and reliability of the electricity system, including the availability of generator units, strengthening the transmission and distribution network. Second, to temporarily stop the maintenance of installations at the transmission and substation, except for emergency work / repair of damage or equipment disruption.
Third, make plans and patterns of operation of generating units based on the estimated load (load forecast) in the period of Eid Al-Fitr in previous years, by preparing a spining reserve larger than the regular time. Fourth, conduct supervision and alert in a number of vital objects, such as mosques and crowded centers related to supply availability.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of ESDM, Arcandra Tahar wants PLN to look for existing shortcomings, so that it can anticipate if something bad happens. Arcandra also stated that according to President Jokowi’s instructions, sufficient energy must be able to meet the needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
“As one of our functions in ESDM, and according to the President’s order, that energy sufficiency, both from the electricity side as well as from fuel oil (BBM), it must be able to fulfill all needs during Ramadhan and Eid,” said Arcandr
To ensure the electricity and fuel conditions, the ESDM sector will open the ESDM sector Eid Post since the E-15 Eid to H + 15 Eid. This period is longer than the national post which operates from H-7 to H + 7 Eid.
In addition, PLN also carried out interference alert at a number of posts with details of one UP2D main post / UP2D (distribution management implementing unit), the main post (UP3) as many as 17 Customer Service Implementation Units. Then 93 units of the Customer Service Unit (ULP) and 193 Sub Command Posts (KP) were held.
Meanwhile, PT PLN Solo area also began preparing to welcome the Eid al-Fitr 2019. Various efforts were made, including preparing personnel and a number of facilities and infrastructure to support network reliability. It also prepares around 10 standby cars, with 10 personnel who will be ready to conduct patrols. This is done to maintain the network, such as the presence of electricity disruptions due to fallen trees or broken electrical wiring and others.
The PLN Manager of UP3 Solo said that it also involved six vendors to maximize the services provided. They will prepare around 12 crains. He also said, during the Eid period, electricity consumption was predicted to decline if compared to normal days, this was because many customers from the industrial sector were off or not operating.
