Jakarta – The government continues to conduct outreach as a means of educating the public and related stakeholders that the Job Creation Law (Ciptaker) is a legal product created to prioritize the interests of working groups and one of the steps to support the wheels of the national economy amid the threat of global turmoil.
Through the Ciptaker Law, the Government aims to improve people’s welfare, and maintain the industrial and investment climate in Indonesia. It is hoped that this can be realized because the Ciptaker Law prioritizes aspects of equity and simplification. So far, investors still do not have a clear legal umbrella when they invest in Indonesia, and therefore they really need a legal umbrella in a short time, one of which is through the ratification of the Ciptaker Law.
“The Ciptaker Law was able to create the widest possible employment opportunities, besides that it was also able to increase the economic growth target at a minimum, so that Indonesia could be released from the middle-income trap,” said Economic Observer at the University of Indonesia (UI), Fithra Faisal.
On the other hand, Fithra Faisal also believes that the Ciptaker Law can also be a solution to continue to boost export figures and also support economic growth in Indonesia in terms of institutional improvement. This is important because Indonesia’s industrial climate is currently experiencing problems in being able to support 6% annual economic growth. To be able to increase the role of industry, the government must improve infrastructure, human resources and institutions.
On the same occasion, the Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Minister of State Secretariat (Mensesneg), Faldo Maldini said that the Ciptaker Law was a breakthrough for employment problems in Indonesia, including the existence of the UMP, as a solution to equal distribution of wages for workers in each region and not only relying on one area only.
“The Ciptaker Law concretely accommodates the interests of workers because the Labor Union as a representative can speak freely. Apart from that, in general, many rules have been simplified so that it has an impact on companies and MSMEs who now do not need to be afraid of bureaucracy,” said Faldo Maldini.
With this simplification of the bureaucracy, the state must continue to be able to grow and be evenly distributed, one of which is by facilitating investment, because if this doesn’t go well, growth and equity will not occur properly.
This is in accordance with the statement by the Secretary General of the Central Governing Body of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI), Anggawira, who said that in a comprehensive manner, the Ciptaker Law is indeed a very good thing, because we can synchronize one law with another so that we can create a regulation and other.
“The Ciptaker Law is meant to provide simplification of the bureaucracy, so that business operations can be much more effective and efficient. Because we ourselves are currently competing with other countries to be able to attract the amount of incoming investment,” said Anggawira while concluding the discussion organized by Communi&Co (14/04/2023).
