CIDISS – Indonesia is a country with thousands of islands and the sea. Many residents worked as fishermen. Lately, we often hear hot news about blasting and scuttling ships doing illegal fishing in territorial waters of Indonesia. Based on the foregoing, the Government has enacted regulations to address illegal fishing.
Illegal fishing also occurs in the territory of the district. The perpetrators were members of the fishermen who use tools banned by the Government. It aim to keep the ecosystem and sea living, also the fish.
As happen in the regency of Pulang Pisau, province of Central Kalimantan. The head of the Fisheries Agency and the Maritime District Pulang Pisau, Riduan Syahrani says that fisheries are illegitimate (illegal fishing) started occur in the waters of the coastal area of the local area regency of Pulang Pisau.
According to him, since last January, it along with the security apparatus doing raids in several places, one being in Sebangau. As a result, it still finds the presence of fishermen who catch fish with lampara. Lampara is net capture was modified and fitted with some kind of a banned troll tool its use by the Government.
In fact, it also encountered some fishermen from outside the area that was catching fish in waters area of regency of Pulang Pisau, among them such citizen from Katingan, Pagatan and Batanjung.
Razia aims to giving information so that the fishermen no longer use a modified lampara become a troll. Even though it was found in the raids, the fishermen are given only warnings.
To prevent the occurrence of “illegal regency of Pulang Pisau, it also has formed a watchdog groups in it is the citizens of the community. This group later reported to the relevant parties, in finding the perpetrators of the illegal fishing.
Related to the management of coastal and marine areas, Riduan claimed to have those powers delegated to the Government of the province of Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) based on the Act.
