Mamuju – Improvement of human resource development (HRD) in the Indonesian province of West Sulawesi is the key to face the ASEAN Economic Community 2015 (AEC 2015), according to the local government`s first assistant Jamil Barambangi.
“The key to South Sulawesi`s success to face the AEC is the way in which we develop competitive human resources in the province. The AEC will be implemented to create peace and bilateral cooperation, and to overcome the global crisis and ethnic conflicts in the ASEAN countries, which are rich in cultural diversity” Barambangi said.
Therefore, well-prepared and competitive human resources are necessary, in addition to harboring a high sense of nationalism, culture, and ethics to face the AEC.
“Positive culture of the nation should not be removed, because if it happened, it would shut down the domestic trade and affect the economy,” he stated.
