Very high appreciation should be given to all security forces from the joint personnel, in which they have succeeded in continuing to push the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) until they finally surrendered and also made arrests and confiscation of hundreds of weapons used by the separatist group and that terrorist.
Dozens of KST Papua members are reported to have surrendered their weapons to security forces from joint personnel consisting of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) in the Indonesian border region, PNG.
In this regard, the Task Force Commander (Dansatgas) Lt. Col. Inf Syafruddin Mutasidasi revealed that the former Papuan KST member had voluntarily surrendered the Engkel Loop type of firearm to the RI-PNG Yonif 725/Woroagi Pamtas Task Force under the auspices of Kolakops Korem 174/ATW in Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua.
The surrender of the firearms was carried out by 2 (two) former members of the KST Papua gang. They went to one of the Yonif 725 / Woroagi Task Force posts. Then, after being received by members of the post, the two men also admitted that they carried a Hinge Loop firearm and wanted to hand it over to the members at the post.
The voluntary handover of the firearms by the former Papuan KST member is a result of the good relations that have existed between the security forces and the local community in Cenderawasih Land.
The Yonif 725 / Woroagi Task Force continues to carry out its duties for security on the RI – PNG border, especially in the Boven Digoel area and of course has also carried out a lot of interactions and also continues to maintain very good friendships with all local people who are around the post area of the Task Force’s ranks. .
With the friendly relations and very good relations that have been created between the security forces and the entire local community, this then underlies the voluntary surrender of firearms to the Yonif 725 / Woroagi Task Force.
The two people who voluntarily surrendered their firearms to the security forces, had the initials J and E. Both were former members of KST Papua, but now they have realized and returned to dedicate themselves to the Republic of Indonesia (RI) and continue to strive to maintain peace in the region. Papuan.
Meanwhile, as many as hundreds of ammunition and weapons from separatist and terrorist groups in Papua were also reported to have been confiscated by the Cartenz Peace Task Force. Unmitigated, the joint security forces of the TNI, Polri and BIN have also succeeded in arresting 13 Papuan KST members.
Not only making arrests, the Carstensz Damai Task Force has also managed to confiscate as many as 13 firearms and 710 rounds of ammunition of various calibers that were previously controlled by separatist and terrorist groups in Bumi Cenderawasih.
Security forces seized 6 (six) of the 13 firearms from KST Papua led by Egianus Kogoya in Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains. Then, as many as 4 (four) firearms were found to have come from Jayapura Regency, and 2 (two) other firearms came from Puncak Regency, and also 1 (one) of them came from Jayapura Regency.
Regarding the confiscation of firearms and also the arrest of KST Papua which was successfully carried out by the joint apparatus, the Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Kombes Faizal Ramadhani stated that the confiscation was a form of the seriousness of all security forces who are trying to continue to maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). .
The Cartenz Damai Task Force also managed to confiscate 16 magazines and also 136 sharp weapons (sajam), communication equipment in the form of 76 cell phones and 23 handy talkies (HT). Not only that, 4 (four) SSB radio units were also confiscated, and 7 (seven) cameras and binoculars, then 4 (four) laptops and 4 (four) Morning Star flags.
The confiscation of hundreds of weapons, ranging from firearms and ammunition to sharp weapons and also many communication devices owned by KST Papua, as well as the arrest of dozens of gang members is an ongoing effort by security forces in Indonesia. This deserves to be given the highest possible appreciation because efforts to restore a peaceful situation and condition on Cenderawasih Earth can be realized.
