Papua – As a result of the series of very barbaric and completely inhumane acts of violence carried out by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) led by Egianus Kogoya, which is also a gang of kidnapping pilots from the airline Susi Air, this has also caused many negative impacts, especially making the people of Nduga Regency suffer even more.
Of course the suffering felt by many indigenous Papuan people (OAP) in Nduga Regency is increasing because of a series of barbaric acts carried out by separatist groups in Cenderawasih Earth. In fact, the lives of the residents of the surrounding community are continuously threatened, including the safety and comfort of their lives.
Regarding the current conditions regarding the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) and all levels of the security apparatus from joint personnel, Regional Commander (Pangdam) XVII / Cenderawasih, Major General (Mayjen) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Izak Pangemanan explained that so far efforts to rescue Captain Pilot named Philips Mark Mehrtens are still being carried out and also assisted by the Regency Government (Pemkab) of Nduga.
Furthermore, the Nduga Regency Government itself has also continued to strive for negotiations, which is also a commitment from the central government and the ranks of the security apparatus from the joint personnel, namely not to use the military approach in dealing with this problem, but to continue to prioritize steps or strategies that are humane, namely by opening as wide a space for communication as possible to Egianus Kogoya as the leader of KST Papua.
At present, the local Regional Government (Pemda) is working with extra caution and is already very optimal and optimal. Of course, the ranks of the security forces also encouraged all parties involved to seek the release of the Susi Air pilot, but on the other hand it was also for the sake of prioritizing the safety of the civilians around there.
The reason is, it is also undeniable that the New Zealand pilot hostage incident has made the people around there suffer even more because they continue to imagine that there is a threat to their safety and even to the point where there is a potential threat to their lives.
Because they felt very threatened by the existence of KST Papua, even the community members in Nduga Regency were forced to leave their hometown to find a safe place. So the people there chose to flee in Wamena, Jawawijaya Regency to avoid potential encounters with the separatist group led by Egianus Kogoya.
In fact, the Military Commander XVII / Cenderawasih also reported that his party saw many residents of Nduga Regency who had to be forced to flee. Therefore, the ranks of the security apparatus, from joint TNI personnel, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), immediately made a very strong commitment to being able to restore a sense of security and comfort to restore peace to the Land of Papua, so that people can return to their respective hometowns without feeling any burden.
The reason why the people are very afraid of encounters with KST Papua, is not only because the gang often carries out a series of very violent actions and does not hesitate at all to kill human lives, but the people are also very worried if there is a potential for gunfire to occur which clearly threatens their safety.
For this reason, in response to the fear that is very common among members of the community, the ranks of the security apparatus have also made a very strong commitment that they will never use a military approach at all, but will continue to prioritize negotiations.
The hope of all parties is that the negotiations, which are being continuously carried out by the ranks of the security forces and assisted by the local regional government, can run well and smoothly so that the efforts to evacuate, rescue and free the Susi Air Pilot can be carried out according to plan and able to find a bright spot soon.
If all of these things can run smoothly, then it will automatically bring a sense of security and comfort back to the hearts of the people and they will also be able to return to their hometown in Nduga without the need to feel any more worries or fears.
Because, if the people are no longer afraid and start to have the courage to return to their respective hometowns in Nduga Regency, then the area will also be able to operate normally again as before and improvements to the welfare of the people themselves will also be able to be carried out again.
So far, all methods have been carried out and pursued by many parties, from the central government to regional governments and the ranks of the security forces. This is because it is a form of strong commitment to be able to ease the lives of the people in Nduga so that their suffering due to the KST Papua can be resolved immediately and the mission to free the Susi Air pilot can be realized.
