All parties must be able to be aware of the movements or maneuvers carried out by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST). Moreover, ahead of the implementation of the democratic party and political contestation in the upcoming 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
Several things are worth keeping an eye on, namely the possibility that Legislative Candidates (Legislative Candidates) may turn out to support the separatist movement taking place in Indonesia, especially in Bumi Cenderawasih. The existence of several such candidates for people’s representatives would clearly be very dangerous for the survival of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) itself.
So it is clear that the whole community should, when choosing a candidate for people’s representative whom they trust, check first and understand who the person chosen really is. Don’t make a mistake in choosing the people’s representatives in the future.
The reason is, it could be that if it turns out that there are several legislative candidates who are pro the separatist movement in Bumi Cenderawasih, it is clear that he will get a lot of full support from KST Papua so that their separatist and terror movements can continue to guerrilla in Papua.
Therefore, in order to achieve stability and conduciveness in Bumi Cenderawasih, increased awareness of such matters, including political maneuvers carried out by KST Papua in selecting or supporting legislative candidates who are pro-separatism, must continue to be monitored.
In fact, the event of democratic celebrations and political contestation in elections, including the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) itself is a very important moment for all people in Indonesia, including the Papuan people. The reason is, with elections held every 5 (five) years in the country, it also serves as a circulation of leadership and allows for leadership changes to be much better in the future.
This will be able to happen if the leadership candidates, including candidates for people’s representatives, who run in the future elections are figures who really uphold all the nation’s values, such as Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. On the other hand, this democratic event actually also has its own challenges because it could be that some of the legislative candidates who register are people who are pro-separatist movements.
The public is clearly required to be truly alert, do as much research as possible before deciding to vote and really know the track record of the potential leaders or representatives of the people they wish to elect. If it is felt that the candidate has a track record that is not in line with the nation’s values, then it is appropriate that he should not be selected.
Efforts to further improve research and find out track records before voting, including not selecting potential leaders or candidates for people’s representatives who are problematic or who have a track record as supporters of separatist movements, is one clear proof of the active participation of all people in Indonesia. in realizing state stability.
Because it adheres to democratic principles, whoever gets the most votes will be able to occupy their position. Therefore, do not let candidates for people’s representatives who are pro-separatist movements get so many votes that they are unable to sit in parliamentary seats.
Even though the pro-separatist legislative candidates received several votes of support from the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST), at least their chance of being able to sit in parliament could be prevented by the public not voting for their names.
It is clear that in the midst of political momentum which is getting hotter day by day, it is very important for all people in the country to be able to unite and firmly reject the existence of KST or any group that still agrees with acts of separatism that will give rise to terrorism. Not only that, the community should also be able to continue to play an active role in maintaining regional security.
Regarding this matter, the Head of the Papua Regional Police (Kapolda), Inspector General of Police (Irjen Pol) Mathius D. Fakhiri said that so far his party continues to predict that the disturbances carried out by KST Papua will certainly still affect the security and public order (kamtibmas) in Bumi Cenderawasih. in the 2024 Election.
According to him, good coordination from all parties to the security forces is very important, which can minimize the possibility that undesirable things happen. Because with good coordination, of course it will also help security forces in taking action.
Rejection of all forms of separatist acts, especially those carried out by KST Papua, also came from the Papuan Traditional Leader, Jos Magay. Very firmly, he rejected all forms of action and acts of violence that were often carried out by KST Papua, and he also expressed high appreciation for the security forces’ actions against the separatist gangs.
In order to continue to realize stability and conduciveness in the Bumi Cenderawasih region, all parties should be able to increase awareness of the political maneuvers carried out by KST Papua in supporting legislative candidates who are pro-separatist movements.
