Eradicating drugs is one of the main priorities in the era of President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership. In the grand vision towards Indonesia Emas 2045, the war on drugs is not just a government agenda, but also an integral part of the mission to save the young generation who are the hope for the future of the nation. President Prabowo has given firm direction to all ranks to eradicate drugs to the roots, creating a safe, healthy environment, and free from the threat of narcotics.
Drugs have long been a serious threat to Indonesia. Not only does it damage the physical and mental of individuals, but it also disrupts the social, economic, and security stability of the country. Deputy for Community Empowerment of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Wanda Ferdiana, said that drug crimes are included in the type of extraordinary crimes . This is because drug crimes are organized across countries and internationally, and are a serious threat that can damage the joints of a nation’s life. Therefore, he considered that fighting this crime is a global challenge that is also faced by Indonesia.
In this context, BNN continues to strive to improve the role of prevention and community empowerment to suppress drug abuse. Public education is one of the important strategies in fighting this threat, along with the legal approach taken by state officials.
The Indonesian National Police has a strategic role in efforts to eradicate drugs, especially in taking firm action against drug networks. The Head of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner General Wahyu Widada, stated that the various disclosures of drug cases that have been carried out by the Indonesian National Police are a form of protection for the community. According to him, drugs are a major threat to society, especially the younger generation who are the nation’s hope in realizing the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
Commissioner General Wahyu also emphasized that President Prabowo’s direction regarding the eradication of narcotics is very clear, namely that it must be carried out to the roots. In addition, the Chief of Police’s order also emphasized the importance of firm action against all forms of drug distribution and abuse. With this approach, the Police have succeeded in thwarting a number of drug smuggling and distribution actions involving international networks, thus narrowing the room for narcotics criminals to move.
In addition to the legal aspect, the impact of drugs on public health is also a major concern. The Head of the Depok City Health Office, dr. Mary Liziawati, said that the drug problem is not just an individual problem, but has become a serious threat that has an impact on public health, security, and the future of the nation. According to dr. Mary, drug abuse is an extraordinary crime that has the potential to create a lost generation if not handled immediately.
Dr. Mary emphasized that preventing drug abuse requires sincerity, consistency, and long-term orientation. She also emphasized that these prevention efforts are an important investment in building a superior, healthy, and competitive future generation. In addition, she invited teachers in schools to participate in providing students with an understanding of the dangers of narcotics, so that they can increase the awareness of the younger generation about the threat of drugs.
In the era of President Prabowo, drug eradication is carried out comprehensively by integrating various approaches. In addition to law enforcement, education and rehabilitation are the main pillars in the national strategy against drugs. The government is working with the BNN, Polri, Ministry of Education, and various related agencies to create a society that is aware of the dangers of drugs.
Deputy for Community Empowerment of BNN, Wanda Ferdiana, assessed that the success of the war against drugs requires synergy between the government and the community. Community empowerment efforts through anti-drug campaigns, training, and strengthening the role of families are also important parts of this strategy. With this step, Indonesia is expected to be able to strengthen the social resilience of the community against the threat of narcotics.
The Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 is a great ideal that requires the contribution of all elements of the nation. In this vision, the young generation is the most valuable asset. Eradicating drugs is one of the strategic steps to ensure that the young generation remains healthy, productive, and able to contribute to national development.
President Prabowo understands that the success of drug eradication is an important foundation for creating a bright future for Indonesia. With strong synergy between the government, law enforcement officers, and the community, Indonesia can be free from the threat of drugs. This step not only saves individuals, but also maintains the integrity and sustainability of the nation.
Eradicating drugs is not only the government’s duty, but also a shared responsibility. With the spirit of mutual cooperation and a firm commitment, Indonesia can achieve its goal of becoming a developed, prosperous country free from the threat of narcotics by 2045. This grand vision requires real steps and consistency, in order to achieve a glorious Golden Indonesia.
The success of drug eradication does not only depend on the efforts of the government and law enforcement officers, but also requires active participation from the community. Community support is key to creating a healthy and drug-free environment, both through education, reporting suspicious activities, and assisting victims of drug abuse.
