The security forces continue to try to narrow down the possible space for the Papua Separatist Group (KST) to move. They emphasized that they would immediately take firm action against the separatist gangs, even by deploying hundreds of personnel to Bumi Cenderawasih.
Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Christina Aryani deeply regrets and also strongly condemns the murder case of a female humanitarian activist, who is also a civilian and an indigenous Papuan (OAP) named Michelle Kurisi Doga.
It is known that after being killed by KST Papua, the activist’s body was found in Kolawa District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Highlands Papua Province. Then responding to the existence of this case, Christina Aryani admitted that so far the amount of violence that has occurred in Bumi Cenderawasih has only gotten worse.
The reason is that the victim this time is a civil society member who is also a women’s and children’s activist for the Papuan people themselves, so Michelle’s presence should really help all people in the Land of Papua. However, it turned out that he was still the target of the separatist group’s savagery.
Of course, with the violence that befell civilians, if in the future, for example, there is no immediate, very serious action from the security forces, then it will clearly lead to more and greater social unrest on Earth of Cenderawasih.
In responding to this case, the ranks of the security apparatus from joint personnel consisting of the Indonesian National Army (TNI), Indonesian National Police (Polri) to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) must act very seriously because so far the movements carried out by KST Papua itself has created a lot of terror and extraordinary fear for other groups of people.
It is the duty of the security forces to be able to act very decisively, before more and more victims from civil society continue to fall. Do not let the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) be regarded as a weak country in the face of terrorist groups who have been carrying out their actions in a very brutal way with the only aim of demonstrating their existence.
The National Police Headquarters (Mabes) stated that they would as soon as possible deploy as many as hundreds of personnel to the Land of Papua. This step was taken of course to be able to create security conditions in Bumi Cenderawasih, which has so far been considered less stable than in other areas in the country.
Regarding the deployment of hundreds of personnel, the Head of the Papua Regional Police (Kapolda), Inspector General Pol. Mathius D Fahiri stated that indeed there had been a decision from the National Police Headquarters regarding the sending of Polri personnel to the area which was continuing to experience turmoil.
In fact, in essence, Bumi Cenderawasih itself still really needs additional security personnel. It is hoped that with the addition of personnel directly involved, it will further realize the security of the situation that is occurring in Papua.
Apart from the previous murder of humanitarian activists who were also indigenous Papuan civil society (OAP), the increase in the number of security personnel was also to anticipate various possibilities that might occur, especially in welcoming the implementation of the democratic party and contestation. politics in the General Election (Pemilu) in 2024.
Currently, the Police are continuing to carry out calculations regarding the amount of assistance needed to be sent. When all calculations have been completed, it is clear that aid personnel will be deployed as soon as possible.
When the security forces who are aid personnel have been deployed in the Land of Papua, they will also be immediately deployed in 12 districts spread across two provinces, namely Central Papua and Mountain Papua Provinces because these two regions are still considered very vulnerable.
The 12 regencies are Intan Jaya Regency, Dogiayi Regency, Puncak Regency, Deiyai Regency, Nduga Regency and Lani Jaya Regency. Meanwhile, the other six districts are Puncak Jaya Regency, Yahukimo Regency, Bintang Mountains Regency, Jaya Wijaya Regency, Tolikara Regency and finally, Yalimo Regency.
Efforts to take firm action against KST Papua, who have continued to carry out their actions in a very barbaric manner, even targeting OAP civilians themselves, who are even humanitarian activists, were immediately carried out by the security forces by deploying hundreds of additional personnel to Bumi Cenderawasih.
