Papua – Currently in Papua there are 4 new autonomous regions (DOB). The addition of provinces is very beneficial, especially for the people of Cendrawasih Earth. Life in Papua is growing rapidly and progressing thanks to the existence of new provinces because the people are administratively orderly.
The Papuan people are happy because they have 4 new autonomous regions and a total of 6 provinces there, namely Papua, West Papua, Southwest Papua, South Papua, Mountain Papua and Central Papua. With 4 new autonomous regions, it proves that President Jokowi’s government cares about the people of Cendrawasih Earth.
The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Mappi Regency, South Papua Province, Ferdinandus Kainakaimu, stated that the impact of the additional new autonomous regions was felt. Among them is bringing the government’s span of control closer to the people of Papua. That way, the cost of consulting and communicating with the government will be cheaper.
In a sense, a closer span of government control is very beneficial because it will make it easier for the people. They don’t have to spend a lot of money if they want to come to the provincial government office, because the distance is getting closer. With the addition of the new autonomous regions, Papua’s development will accelerate because the people are in an orderly administration.
Papuans need new autonomous regions for their development. Another goal is to facilitate administrative arrangements for the provincial capital. For example, if in the past from Intan Jaya to Jayapura (the capital of the province of Papua) one had to travel more than 400 KM, now from Intan Jaya to Mimika (the capital of the province of Central Papua) it is only 100 KM.
The community is indeed asking for regional expansion (additional new autonomous regions) for reasons of ease of administration, because the territory of Papua is very large. If there are only 2 provinces then the distance from the regions to the capital city is farther. However, if there are 6 provinces, it will be closer, because the area will be smaller.
Therefore it is only natural that the community agrees and is grateful for the formation of the new autonomous region.
Also with the new autonomous regions, there will automatically be additional APBD funds from the central government, which can be used to support the progress of the Papuan people. APBD funds will be very useful for the people because they are disbursed for development in their area, including infrastructure, economic and human resource development. Papuan people will be more advanced.
The new autonomous region will also create many representative schools, as well as new buildings. Papuan children can study up to high school level without having to go to other provinces. They can be more enthusiastic about learning and become future Papuan leaders.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Commission II of the Indonesian Parliament, Ahmad Dolly Kurnia Tanjung, stated that the addition of the Papua New Autonomous Region would accelerate Papua’s growth and even out development. Papua is a strategic area and division is a solution so that it can develop again. In a sense, in order for development to be more equitable, there must be a new province.
In terms of welfare, because when there is a new province, there will automatically be an APBD and the funds can be used to develop the Cendrawasih Earth region. There will be a lot of infrastructure such as roads and bridges.
When there are good roads, it will remove dependence on air transportation, because land roads are comfortable to use. The effect is that people will be more prosperous because they save costs when they do mobility. In addition, the cost of sending goods will be cheaper because they do not depend on the price of avtur, so that the prices of goods in Papua can decrease.
Meanwhile, a Papuan youth leader, Charles Kossay, stated that the addition of new autonomous regions would have a positive impact on Cendrawasih Earth, namely improving the quality of human resources and infrastructure. In a sense, the emphasis is on infrastructure, because that is what Papua really needs.
If there are new provinces in Papua, highways and infrastructure in the form of buildings will be built. Starting from the Governor’s Office, DPRD (Regional People’s Representative Council) Building, Health Center, and other buildings. All were built with APBD funds intended for the community.
Buildings with the status of public facilities such as health centers and general hospitals are urgently needed by the people of Papua because they need closer access to health. If someone has an accident or is seriously ill, it will be faster to get help. In addition, mothers can give birth safely and immediately receive help from a midwife, because the distance from their house to the hospital is closer.
The addition of new autonomous regions is predicted to accelerate regional growth in Papua. All of this is for the sake of the people because they also have the right to receive infrastructure and facilities like people in Java and other provinces. Equitable development must indeed be carried out in order to implement the principles of justice and also Pancasila. Papua is also part of Indonesia, therefore it must be developed so that it continues to progress.
Papua will develop rapidly thanks to the 4 new autonomous regions because the APBD funds from the central government have also increased. With that money, it is used to develop Papua, in the fields of infrastructure, education, health, etc. Communities on Cendrawasih Earth will be more advanced and enjoy the growth of their territory.
