JAKARTA – Ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations, President Prabowo Subianto is committed to ensuring national stability and security are maintained. In his statement, the President emphasized that the government will work hard to create a sense of security for all Indonesian people, both in Christmas worship activities and New Year celebrations that involve high mobility.
“Security and order are our top priorities in facing the Christmas and New Year period which is usually marked by increased social activities and mobility of citizens. We ensure that security forces will be present in all regions to ensure the smooth running of the celebrations and prevent potential disturbances,” said President Prabowo.
Furthermore, the President revealed that the government, through various related agencies, has designed a security strategy involving the police, TNI, and various other institutions. Coordination between agencies will also be strengthened to ensure there are no gaps for potential threats, both criminal and terrorist.
“Once again, cross-ministerial and cross-institutional work, indeed here of course the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Public Works, Minister of Tourism, Chief of Police, TNI who will face an increasing workload towards the end of this year,” said the Head of State.
The President is confident that his staff will be able to carry out all preparations as well as possible. President Prabowo wants all his staff to assure the public that they will be able to face the new year safely, orderly and smoothly.
“This is also our benefit, our momentum to improve our economy,” said President Prabowo.
Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that 141,443 personnel will be on standby to guard the Naratu celebration. The deployment of troops was carried out to guard against the surge in activity that will occur during the Nataru momentum.
“Whether it is tourism activities, whether it is homecoming activities, either between provinces or within the province of departure,” said Listyo.
The Chief of Police continued, the 141,443 personnel are a combination of the TNI and Polri. They will be placed in 2,794 candle operation posts spread throughout Indonesia.
Not only guarding the post, Listyo ensured that his personnel would also patrol several crowded areas to anticipate criminal acts.
