President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to firmly eradicate drugs is a strong signal that the government will not back down even a step in facing this threat. This commitment is not just mere discourse, but has been translated into real action in various regions. Under the President’s command, all law enforcement and local governments are asked to move simultaneously, making drug eradication a top priority.
This is not only about the law, but also concerns the future of the nation that is being eroded by the dangers of drugs. The young generation that should be the hope, is now the main target of this crime. With strategic steps, this directive is expected to create a safer, cleaner, and drug-free environment.
Lampung Police Chief, Inspector General Helmy Santika, took concrete steps to follow up on this directive. Within a month, a large-scale operation was carried out by the Lampung Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate, resulting in the disclosure of narcotics worth Rp14.7 billion.
A total of 215 suspects from 159 police reports were successfully secured, along with evidence including marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, and other dangerous drugs. This figure reflects the seriousness of the drug threat in the region, but also shows the dedication of the authorities in fighting this crime.
This success does not stop at disclosure alone. Helmy Santika emphasized the importance of a holistic approach, including deepening indications of money laundering to uncover the flow of funds for drug crimes.
Not only that, a community-based approach is also encouraged by changing the red zone of drug distribution into a Resilient Village Free of Drugs. This step involves various parties, such as local governments, community leaders, and educational institutions, to create an environment that is truly free from the threat of drugs.
A firm stance was also shown against officers involved in drug crimes. Helmy ensured that there would be no tolerance for police officers involved, emphasizing that integrity is the main foundation in police duties. This commitment is not only to maintain public trust, but also to realize President Prabowo’s vision of making Indonesia a safe, orderly, and crime-free country.
Not only in Lampung, similar efforts were also carried out by the Tanjung Priok Port Police in North Jakarta. Within a month, the Narcotics Investigation team in the area managed to uncover several major cases, including the seizure of tens of kilograms of marijuana and hundreds of ecstasy pills.
The operation was led by Head of Narcotics Investigation Unit AKP Anggoro Winardi, who underlined the importance of community support in reporting drug cases. The active role of the community is one of the keys to the success of law enforcement in the region.
The success in Tanjung Priok also shows the importance of cooperation between the police and the community in uncovering larger drug networks. This step is in line with the President’s direction to ensure Indonesia is free from international drug networks.
Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, AKBP Indrawienny Panjiyoga, emphasized that his party continues to strive to secure strategic areas, including the port area, which is often the entry point for drug trafficking.
On the other hand, the PALI Police of South Sumatra also showed proactive steps by forming a Drug Eradication Task Force. In a coordination meeting with the local government and community leaders, the PALI Police Chief, AKBP Khairu Nasrudin, conveyed his full commitment to protecting the younger generation from the dangers of drugs. This program is a real manifestation of support for the President’s Asta Cita program which emphasizes the importance of drug eradication as a national priority.
This step shows that drug eradication is not only the task of the police, but also involves various elements of local government. With strong synergy, this program is expected to protect the younger generation from the increasingly complex threat of drugs.
This commitment is not only a short-term task, but also a long-term vision to create a safer and healthier Indonesia. President Prabowo firmly directed all elements of the state to work together to fight drugs. This direction is a reminder that this great task cannot be completed by just one institution, but requires cross-sectoral cooperation.
The integrity and discipline upheld by every police personnel are also important factors in building public trust. Lampung Police Chief Helmy Santika, for example, is committed to taking firm action against anyone involved in drug trafficking, including if the perpetrator is a member of the police. This zero-tolerance attitude is a strong message that drug eradication must be carried out without discrimination.
Huge challenges still lie ahead, but the concrete steps that have been taken show that real change is happening. By involving various elements of society, government, and law enforcement, the war on drugs has become more than just a campaign, but a national commitment to protect the future of the nation.
We all, as part of society, have an important role to play in supporting this effort. By reporting suspicious activity, supporting prevention programs, and educating young people about the dangers of drugs, we can work together to create a healthier environment.
In addition, efforts to continue to strengthen synergy and maintain integrity can create an Indonesia that is free from the threat of drugs. Let’s play an active role in this struggle together, because the future of our young generation is in our hands.
