CIDISS – The Immigration Inspection (TPI) Class II Nunukan, North Kalimantan has not been able to find the point of illegal route which the passengers will go to Tawau, Malaysia as well as vice versa. Many of the passengers using ships owned by PT. Pelni and it are suspected Indonesian Migrant Workers (BMI) who wants to work in Malaysia.
After Idul Fitri, the port of Tunon is fully crowded of passengers who want to return to Tawau, Malaysia after having long holidays in hometown. But, Indonesian Migrant Workers (BMI) is more choose illegal route Nunukan to Tawau.
The head of the Immigration Inspection (TPI) Class II Port Tunon, Nunukan, Nasution said that monitoring the route of the passenger is quite difficult. Because the Job of TPI is only focus on the official route in the port of Tunon Taka, Nunukan, and the party do not deal with illegal route in the illegal dock.
“Our job is only at the Port of Tunon Taka, others else than the port, there is no controls,” said Nasution.
According to him, during after Idul Fitri, many passengers using PT Pelni’s ship, but not all passengers will go back to Tawau, Malaysia. Because the passport stamp activities do not have a very high increase. There is not much different from the normal days.
The illegal route is difficult to be solved because the awareness of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BMI) is still less and ignore the safety and risk that must be borne if caught the authority of Malaysia.
