Manado – The Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) is an important initiative designed to serve as a residence for students from various ethnic groups, languages, cultures, and religions in Indonesia.
In Manado, the construction of the Nusantara Student Dormitory has received support from Sam Ratulangi University. (Unsrat). Even Unsrat has prepared dozens of hectares of land that function to continuously enhance the skills of students in various fields.
The academic from Unsrat Manado, Prof. Grevo Soleman Gerung, stated that they express high appreciation and full support for the development of AMN.
“Following the directions and guidance of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Unsrat Manado provides full support and assistance for the development of AMN Manado,” he said.
With students from various regions and universities, AMN aims to create an environment that reflects the spirit of diversity and national unity.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Infrastructure Development Agency of North Sulawesi (BPPW Sulut), Nurdiana Habibie, stated that the full support from various parties will clearly drive the success of the AMN Manado development.
“We sincerely hope for support from all parties involved, so that the development of AMN Manado can proceed smoothly,” he said.
AMN has previously been present in Surabaya, and to this day, many achievements have been accomplished by the students residing at AMN Surabaya.
According to the Head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), retired Police General Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, the purpose of developing AMN is to serve as a model of diversity and a shared home for the younger generation of Indonesian students.
“By upholding the values of Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, AMN is established in six locations, namely in the cities of Surabaya, Makassar, Manado, Malang, Bantul, and DKI Jakarta,” explained the Head of BIN.
For your information, the development of AMN is the result of collaboration among various ministries and non-ministerial government agencies, such as BIN, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemenristek), the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), local governments, and various universities.
AMN is expected to become a symbol of diversity and unity in Indonesia, reflecting the spirit of brotherhood and diversity under one roof. []
