JAKARTA — Communicologists revealed that Rocky Gerung used the diction Bastard-Tolol, which was very far from civilized communication.
Indonesian communicaologist Emrus Sihombing responded to a statement that went viral on social media regarding the use of the Bastard-Tolol diction that was put forward by someone and shown to another person.
According to him, this, regardless of the person’s social status, shows that he does not pay attention to the axiology of communication.
In fact, Emrus considers that such messages are communication patterns that are very far from civilized communication and common sense.
He then advised that if the message of communication has been delivered to the public space, it should be rational, useful and still maintain the civility of communication.
The statement responded to how some time ago political observer Rocky Gerung had given passionate criticism to President Jokowi on one occasion.
Rocky even accused the Head of State of continuing to try to be able to maintain the legacy he has.
“Once Jokowi loses his power he becomes an ordinary person, no one cares later. But Jokowi, Jokowi’s ambition is to maintain his legacy,” he said.
Then, there was diction which later became a problem and was completely uncivilized when the political observer accused the seventh Indonesian President of only seeking clarity about his own fate.
“He offered IKN, back and forth to the coalition, to seek clarity on his fate, he thought his fate was not ours, he was a stupid bastard, as well as a cowardly bastard,” added Rocky.
With this statement, the Chairman of Cyber Indonesia, Muannas Alaidid immediately commented and questioned whether it was permissible to use such diction with state leaders.
“Can I say our president; stupid bastard @DivHumas_Polri,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Social Media Activist, Denny Siregar also commented and said that Rocky Gerung’s statement had clearly crossed the line.
“Rocky Gerung this time was very offside,” he said.
According to him, even the phrase put forward by the philosopher is included in the insult of the president.
“This is an insult to the President,” said Denny.
There are also many other responses coming from netizens in cyberspace who reveal that if someone insults the president, it means the same as insulting the voters.
“Insulting the president is the same as insulting the people who voted for him,” added another netizen.
Other netizens also continued to push for Rocky Gerung to be immediately arrested by the Police.
