A thorough investigation into alleged leaks related to the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the implementation of the 2024 election system which uses a closed proportional system is something that must be done as soon as possible so that the public does not become more agitated by the massive spread of this issue on many social media and digital spaces.
The Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (Menko Polhukam RI), Mahfud MD explicitly asked the Constitutional Court (MK) to be able to thoroughly investigate the alleged leak of the results of the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the lawsuit against the democratic party system and general election political contestation (Election) in 2024.
Not only asking the Constitutional Court to carry out a thorough investigation, but Mahfud MD also asked Denny Indrayana, as the person who had made a statement that shocked the public regarding the leakage of data on the MK decision, to immediately clarify the matter of his statement.
How could it not be, with the issue of leakage regarding the Constitutional Court’s decision it is wrong. Moreover, even if there is a data leak, it is very likely that the insider will leak the results of the decision. Therefore, the Constitutional Court should be able to carry out a thorough investigation.
Previously, it was known that former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham), Denny Indrayana had indeed claimed that he had received information about how the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) system would be carried out again using a closed proportional system.
Meanwhile, the General Chair of the National Awakening Party (Ketum PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or commonly known as Cak Imin also very firmly requested that the Constitutional Court be able to immediately thoroughly investigate the alleged leak of information regarding the decision, moreover the Constitutional Court itself should also able to continue to maintain their integrity.
Of course integrity itself is a very important thing for the Constitutional Court to continue to uphold, especially regarding efforts to resolve disputes over the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). Because if this issue continues to circulate in society, then the public will have the impression that as if the Constitutional Court is an institution that can actually be intervened and is also unable to maintain their integrity, even the data on the decisions can be leaked. When this assumption continues to wildly develop in Indonesian society, of course it is also feared that in the future the people will no longer believe in the Constitutional Court. So that it will have the potential to create chaos because the presidential election dispute could actually be resolved on the streets not according to legal guidelines and applicable provisions.
The alleged leak of the Constitutional Court’s decision to the public regarding their decision regarding the election system in the future is something that is considered not only capable of causing uproar in the community, but also simultaneously seriously tarnishing the good name of the Constitutional Court.
In fact, not a few parties claimed to be surprised after learning about the news that there was apparently a data leak regarding the Constitutional Court’s decision in the community. Even though regardless of whether the leak is true or not, what is clear is that only with leaked data before the decision is officially read out in court, that of course immediately makes the public wonder and again doubts the integrity of an institution like the Constitutional Court. .
On the other hand, with the news regarding this data leak, it immediately made many parties share their reactions, including the Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo who stated that his party had received direct instructions from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to immediately investigate thoroughly. the existence of this case in order to prevent the potential for prolonged polemics in the community.
So, with a quick response, the efforts made by the Police also deserve to be given high appreciation because they immediately prepared many investigative steps so that they could make this incident clearer to the public.
In response to instructions from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to carry out a thorough investigation, the National Police immediately coordinated to determine how to plan and follow up on the alleged leak of the MK decision regarding the 2024 election system. The police are now also continuing to examine whether or not there is a criminal element in the alleged data leak. Of course, if it turns out that from the results of an investigation conducted by the National Police, elements of a crime are found, then further action will be taken immediately.
It cannot be denied that the public has recently been immediately shocked by a statement claiming that data regarding the Constitutional Court’s decision related to the election system was leaked to the public. Therefore, in order to further minimize it so that the community does not become constantly rowdy, a thorough investigation is indeed urgent and it is mandatory to be held immediately so that we can find out who is actually the mastermind behind this incident.
