The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has made all its efforts and efforts maximally and optimally, especially in order to carry out preventive mitigation regarding the alleged leak of election data in the upcoming 2024 election.
The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Dirjen Dukcapil Kemendagri RI), Teguh Setyabudi explained that his party had established communication and cooperation with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo) to deal with suspected leaks data in Dukcapil. In fact, as a result of the rapid movement carried out, two activities have been born to immediately solve the problem.
His party also informed the public not to be easily swayed by any issues circulating on social media because indeed all kinds of issues or narratives can be made by certain irresponsible parties, and in fact this is absolutely not true.
Teguh stated that it turned out that the data on the breachforums regarding the alleged leak had occurred, when viewed from the form of the data elements, it was not at all the same as the data contained in the existing government’s current population database.
His party together with all stakebolders or other stakeholders will continue and are still carrying out further investigations regarding the polemic that has arisen in this community.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Benny Irawan explained that the collaboration that had been carried out by the Directorate General of Dukcapil with the BSSN and the Ministry of Communication and Information itself had carried out investigative audit steps and also carried out preventive mitigation.
The two steps taken have even been carried out very quickly shortly after the issue regarding the alleged data leak was sticking out to the public and even to this day, all of them are still proceeding rapidly to go even deeper.
Benny also expressed his gratitude to the public for providing information regarding the alleged data leak. According to him, all information conveyed by the people in the country, if it is related to the sustainability of the nation and state, will be immediately followed up very quickly.
With the information conveyed by the community, it is also at the same time a sign that the people really have more attention to the government and to the sustainability of the country. So that when you get information about suspected data leaks, you can immediately and accurately handle it without having to wait a long time and can be handled optimally right away.
The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) itself has also played a very important role and has carried out various methods or strategic steps so that they have created a task force (Satgas) assigned to specifically carry out security for the General Elections (Elections) in the upcoming 2024, especially regarding the potential or risk of cyber threats.
In this regard, BSSN Spokesman (spokesperson) for BSSN, Ariandi Putra explained that the Task Force formed by BSSN has so far continued to carry out its roles and functions to the fullest, primarily to strengthen electronic system security, implement early prevention and also provide assistance to related institutions. during the 2024 democratic party and political contest.
The main function of the Task Force formed by the BSSN regarding the 2024 Election is of course to be able to strengthen the existing system in Indonesia, especially with regard to voter data and also regarding any data related to the General Election.
The strength possessed by the BSSN Task Force itself cannot be doubted at all, because they are similar to the task force formed at the time of securing the Group of Twenty (G-20) Summit in 2022, where they have experienced great success for continue to maintain cyber security even during international events, so that it is very equal and equal to world-class security.
Regarding the issue regarding the alleged leak of the 2024 Election data which had circulated in the public on social media, it must be responded to very wisely, and all people in Indonesia should be more vigilant about anything related to news on social media. This is because the Government itself has so far continued to make efforts for preventive mitigation with the aim of actually securing data.
