On May 21, the KPU officially announced that of the national vote totaling 154,257,601, the Winner of the 2019 Presidential Election was Paslon number 01 Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin. Even so, the Prabowo-Sandiaga camp still did not accept the fact with a lackluster attitude, the lawsuit was submitted to the Constitutional Court after the riots on May 22 then subsided.
Pair number 01 Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin managed to get 55.50 percent of the votes from the total national legitimate votes. While the pair number 02 must accept the reality with a score of 44.50 percent of the total valid national votes.
The victory of the former Mayor of Solo was also highlighted by a number of foreign media. One of them is the United States online news website, The New York Times through its article entitled Joko Wins Re-election in Indonesia, Defeating the Hard Line Former General, the news site also highlights the victory of number 1 pair Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin.
“President Joko Wdodo from Indonesia has won the general election, according to the final vote count released by the state election commission on Tuesday, despite a number of rejections towards his leadership …,” the New York Times quote related to the election results was announced more than a month after the April 17 vote.
Not only that, the Japanese media, the Nikkei Asan Review, also reviewed the news. The news page from the sunrise country reviewed Jokowi’s victory in an article entitled, Jokowi won vote count in Indonesian election: official result.
The site reviews KPU’s confirmation of Jokowi’s victory over former general Prabowo Subianto, which paved the way for incumbents to lead the country for the next 5 years.
Based on the results of the final KPU recapitulation, candidate pair number 01 was superior in 21 provinces and pair number 02 was superior in 13 provinces. The official data has been approved on May 20, 2019 at 24.00 WIB.
For the official announcement and news on foreign media, it certainly shows that the victory of the Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin pair is an absolute victory. This is reinforced by the existence of 21 provinces that won number 1 pair Jokowi – Ma’ruf, Namely, Central Sulawesi, East Java, NTT, Central Java, Riau Islands, West Papua, DKI Jakarta, North Sumatra, Maluku, Gorontalo, Papua and etc.
Although Jokowi did not get a victory in Sumatra, the defeat was covered by votes in East Java and Central Java. Therefore, even though Prabowo excelled in Sumatra, Jokowi was able to compensate for his defeat in Sumatra, with great advantages in Central and East Java. Even Prabowo was allegedly superior in West Java, but Prabowo and BPN as Timses Prabowo – Sandiaga could not maximize the potential of votes in West Java.
Jokowi’s Victory Fact – Ma’ruf Amin
The Jokowi – Maufuf victory factor consists of 3 factors, namely the Javanese voters, the NU Election and Minority Voters. Excellence in Java is considered important because voters in Java contribute a total of 57.84 percent of the total national voters. Apart from that strong support also came from the ulama’s nahdlatul circles, Analisa Alvara has shown how much the Nahdliyin support Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin which is one of the key factors in this 2019 presidential election.
The vote donations from Nahdliyin for Joko Widodo – Ma’ruf Amin can be seen from the magnitude of the electability of the 01 pair in East Java and Central Java. The next factor that became the key to the victory of Joko Widodo – Ma’ruf Amin was the solidity of minority voters supporting Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin.
“The results of the Quick Count in provinces such as Bali, NTT, North Sulawesi and Papua showed a very high margin of excellence for Joko Widodo – Ma’ruf Amin.
On another occasion, TKN Chair Erick Thohir once confirmed that the victory achieved by the candidate pair 01 was obtained without fraud. He said, the victory of Paslon 01 was the will of God through the voice of the people.
“This is for the good of Indonesia. It is impossible for good to be gained through fraud, “said Erick Thohir.
