President Prabowo’s Foreign Visits to Strengthen Cooperation for Indonesia’s Progress

JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto is currently conducting a series of working visits to China, Peru, Brazil, the United States, and England. These state visits demonstrate President Prabowo’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and bringing tangible benefits to Indonesia across various sectors.

President Prabowo’s working visits to these countries will also strengthen bilateral relations and initiate cooperation in various sectors that support Indonesia’s progress, such as trade, green energy, and maritime affairs.

Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, conveyed that President Prabowo received official invitations from friendly countries to strengthen inter-country relations, as well as to attend important international forums such as APEC and G20.

“We hope these visits can result in beneficial cooperation, especially in the trade, energy, and green energy sectors. Many potentials will be encouraged, including with countries in the Southeast Asian and European regions,” said Prasetyo.

In addition to strengthening bilateral relations, these working visits also have the potential to result in the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) for various collaborations.

“If agreements are reached during the visits, MoUs will be followed up to ensure cooperation proceeds as planned,” Prasetyo continued.

Similarly, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, appreciated China’s support for the MBG program. This support is expected to accelerate the implementation of nutrition programs in Indonesia, which aligns with the government’s vision to improve the quality of life for the people.

“The Chinese government supports this program because they have already implemented it in their country,” said Airlangga.

Meanwhile, Director of the Center of Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS), Bhima Yudhistira, said this partnership is important to accelerate environmentally friendly energy investments in Indonesia, especially in replacing coal-based Steam Power Plants (PLTU) with renewable energy sources.

“We hope the government and business actors in China will become catalysts for green investment in Indonesia, for example by accelerating the use of renewable energy such as solar panels, micro-hydro, and wind power,” said Bhima.

It is known that during the visit to China on November 8-10, President Prabowo and President Xi Jinping agreed to strengthen cooperation in clean energy transition. China also agreed to support the funding of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) in Indonesia. This program is one of the priority programs of the Prabowo administration in improving public nutrition and health.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the “Food Supplementation and School Feeding Programme in Indonesia” was witnessed directly by President Prabowo and President Xi Jinping.
