The success of the General Election certainly requires the role of many parties, not only the KPU and Bawaslu, but the press also has an important role, because the press is a strategic partner of the organizing agency in the success of the 2019 Elections until the inauguration.
We certainly know that Towards the Inauguration of the President and Vice President on 20 October, potential vulnerability is still possible, especially when there are demonstrations ridden by certain groups who want to frustrate the Inauguration of the President and Vice President.
This means that the Press has an interest as a media that can deliver the work role of the Government to the general public.
The partnership certainly provides an opportunity for the press to convey information related to the Government’s performance both in terms of repression and prevention of unconstitutional actions.
Of course, the synergy between the government and the press can be synergized through several mutually beneficial activities.
The press can also collaborate with the government to hold public discussions that discuss issues related to democracy in Indonesia, or other educational issues with electoral themes, such as writing competitions.
The rise of various provocations and hate speeches on social media, of course, must be balanced with the press that provides soothing news.
At present Indonesia is already independent, there is no more occupation with the threat of weapons like a few decades ago. The press or the media certainly have a role in maintaining conduciveness ahead of the inauguration, but irresponsible media can also be a deadly weapon, even it can destroy the national unity that the heroes have struggled so hard for.
It is undeniable that the available information also provides news that is not soothing, but rather leads the public to receive news from the frenzy, without seeing the substance of the intended content.
Until whenever the media must take a role in maintaining the stability of national politics, because like food should be, if the information provided is information that is full of nutrition, of course the recipient of media products in the form of news and information, will be able to respond to the news wisely.
Jokowi’s second term inauguration as Indonesia’s 7th president is scheduled to be held at the DPR / MPR Building, Jakarta on October 20, 2019.
The program also marked the beginning of the second term of office for Joko Widodo as President and Ma’ruf Amin’s first term as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Ahead of the inauguration later, it is better for us to pray and hope that the next period can make Indonesia more advanced and stronger, and trustworthy so that equitable distribution of welfare will soon be realized. We certainly can do this as a form of support for the inauguration of the President and Vice President.
Support for the inauguration of Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin is a form of appreciation for the country’s constitution. Elections have passed, the two candidates have also met each other, so why are we fighting?
Meanwhile, various supporting elements are preparing the escort process ahead of the inauguration, after a number of leaders and supporters met with President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace.

They also appealed to all parties, including the UI itself and other alumni friends, to respect the election results, because these results were in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
He explained that the support and control of the UI alumni movement for Jokowi and Ma’ruf Amin was confirmed based on the manifesto of the movement vowing to uphold the right of every citizen to choose a leader who was trustworthy and with integrity.
The public and the media certainly have a role that cannot be underestimated, both must go hand in hand in guarding the inauguration of the President and Vice President for the 2019-2004 period as a constitutional mandate. Do not let anyone want to play ‘dirty’ ahead of the inauguration or later.
