Jayapura – Papua KST should indeed be stopped and eradicated from its roots. This effort is for the sake of being able to create a situation so that it becomes safe and conducive again in Bumi Cenderawasih when it is free from the group’s acts of terror and cruelty.
The Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) is known as a group that often carries out separatist actions in Cenderawasih Earth. Therefore, they are also referred to as the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST). How could I not, because the existence of this group often carried out rebellions and also spread terror.
In fact, it is undeniable that the terror carried out by KST Papua has caused many victims, whether they came from civilians or those who were members of the security forces.
The latest case they carried out was an attack on a Susi Air plane which lost contact shortly after landing at Paro Airport, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains on Tuesday 7 February 2023.
It was not half-hearted, even the plane with registration number PK-BVY was allegedly also burned by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) led by Egianus Kogoya shortly after landing. Meanwhile, efforts to continue searching for the pilot of the Susi Air plane, named Philips Mark Marthens aged 37, are also being carried out by security forces consisting of joint personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Regarding the arson case to the taking of the pilot of the Susi Air plane carried out by KST Papua, the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD emphasized that the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) would not negotiate with KST who wanted to liberate themselves from Indonesia.
Firmly, Mahfud MD admitted that the government would continue to defend every inch of the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Not only that, but the government will also eradicate groups that really want to take over the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and cause divisions.
Regarding the Susi Air pilot taking hostage, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs explained that the government would make persuasive efforts to KST Papua to be able to release the hostages. According to him, the safety of hostages is a priority. Therefore, a persuasive approach is taken.
This is because according to the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), a persuasive approach to KST Papua can release hostages safely, peacefully, without chaos and also without causing commotion. However, if the initial persuasive and humanist approach does not produce results, the government has also prepared other options to save the Susi Air pilot.
According to Mahfud MD, if indeed persuasive actions are deemed to be fruitless, the government will immediately take action, which is another form of option in efforts to rescue the New Zealand pilot.
Meanwhile, Kapendam VXII/Cenderawasih, Colonel Inf Aqsha Erlangga said that KST was again acting up by carrying out a number of acts of terror which seriously disturbed the security of residents by carrying out various actions, ranging from robberies, disrupting security and even carrying out heinous murders, so they deserved to get labeled as a terrorist criminal gang.
Of course, all forms of terror acts carried out by KST Papua against the people are capable of creating a situation in the Land of Papua that is not conducive, which will be very detrimental to many parties. So the security forces consisting of joint TNI and Polri personnel continue to strive to be able to re-create a conducive atmosphere and situation in the midst of society.
Many efforts have been made by the security forces, starting from providing security at the airport and carrying out joint patrols on a regular basis so that people can feel comfortable and safe again, especially in their activities. On the sidelines of his patrol activities, Pabung Gunung Bintang Regency, Major Arh Soni Siamnjuntak said that his party, together with the National Police, continues to try to appeal and invite the public to jointly guard Kamtibmas.
He said that on the basis of the ongoing appeals being made, now public awareness which has been lacking so far is finally slowly starting to awaken. This can be seen from how active the indigenous Papuan people (OAP) and migrants have become to carry out security guard activities (night watch). Indeed, efforts to be able to re-create a safe and conducive situation in Cenderawasih Land must be carried out jointly, starting from the government, security forces to the whole community. Apart from that, the existence of KST Papua itself must be completely eradicated and stopped because there have been so many threats and ruthlessness.
