Radicalism is not an unfamiliar term, many recitations also often give lectures with nuances of radicalism, such as rejecting ideology or openly expressing intolerant attitudes towards other groups.

The essence of radicalism is the attitude and actions of a particular person or group that uses violent methods in carrying out the desired change. Radical groups generally want these changes in a short time and drastically and conflict with the prevailing social system.

People who embrace radicalism, usually have a strong belief in the program they want to run, they are not reluctant – reluctant to use violence in realizing their desires. Like destroying food stalls in the fasting month. They did this because radicalists believed that all parties with differing views were guilty.

Dr. Cahyo Pamungkas, explained how the origin of radicalism itself can be created. Radicalism arises because of the growing attitude of intolerance, while terrorism is rooted in radicalism. In other words religious intolerance is an attitude that thrives in the development of radicalization of terrorism. So that we should not underestimate it if there is something intolerant to other groups.

In addition, Cahyo also said that at present there is a widespread violation of religion. The index on freedom of belief itself has decreased. Thus an attitude of intolerance was born which became the seed of radicalism.

Suppose there will be a religious sentiment to elect a candidate leader, so that if the prospective leader is not carried out is an anti-religious figure or anti-cleric.
Besides that Radicalism can also develop because of the thought that everything must be returned to religion even if it is rigid and uses violence.

On the other hand, economic problems also participate in giving birth to the seeds of radicalism in various countries. It has become human nature to survive, and when pressed for economic problems, humans can do anything, including provoking lectures at mosques or committing terror to other humans.

Radicalism also arises from those who are disappointed with their leaders, there is some people’s thinking that a state leader only sided with certain parties, resulting in the emergence of groups of people who seemed to want to uphold justice.

However, instead of enforcing justice, these groups often aggravate the situation.
This is supported by some weak economic class people who are generally narrow-minded, making it easy to believe in radical figures because they can bring drastic changes to their lives. Even though they only listened to their lectures at the mosque once, those who were narrow-minded would be very easy to have radical thoughts such as anti-democracy, or anti-tolerance towards other groups. Even radicalists do not care about the existence of human rights.

Radicalism is not Indonesian culture, because Indonesia exists thanks to the diversity of tribes, nations and religions or other beliefs. The attitude of tolerance has become a breath for unity among citizens, each believer can freely worship without the threat of terror.

Radicals use the understanding of absolutism in Islam so that in acting they do not think of anything else that is actually also important and has a strong influence in Islam such as cultural considerations and historical historical values of society.
The mosque should be a place that is soothing and reconciling for every Muslim. Violence, utterances of hatred and radicalism are the results of understanding gained from various kinds of lectures.

One of the loudest attitudes voiced by radicalists is the attitude of feeling the most right on their own, they can easily accuse other people of being bidders, kurafat, shirk and even very mildly throwing charges of infidelity towards other groups. This has resulted in hostilities until fights among worshipers.

Radicalism in the religious context is certainly not justified in Indonesia, the insight into religious literacy must be encouraged, besides that understanding of religion must also be desired with an insight into nationality, because by loving his country he has benefited the nation and his religion.
