CIDISS – Bulat Lake, the name of which is quite unique. An ecotourism destination located in the village of Jahanjang, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. Bulat Lake became one of the destinations of the three vertices of ecotourism that many foreign and local tourists come to there.
The name of Bulat Lake comes from the founders of the village Jahanjang, named Mat Saleh Engkang. He has a wife from Kapuas Dayak tribe, her name is Bunter.
Then he (the Mat Saleh) uses the name of his wife, Bunter as naming the Lake. Bunter in the Indonesia language means Bulat or round in English. That’s the reason, why the Lake called as Bulat lake.
Bulat Lake has reddish-brown colored water that comes from the peat water. Visitors can explore caves, fishing or enjoy the sunrise and sunset.
Chairman of the Association of ecotourism Kamipang, quote in Borneo News.co.id, Jonedi said that Bulat Lake is around 500 m2, is included in a package of ecotourism Kamipang, while two other destinations is the village of Baun Bango which has a tradition of art and culture of the community and the village of Karuing Dayak who has a Centre for research and studies of orangutans.
In addition, the fire football tradition in the evening by the Dayak community can also add to the experience of travelling in the village of 725 inhabitants.
