The existence of the Papua Merdeka Organization (OPM) remains a serious challenge because they are constantly obstructing the Government’s efforts to accelerate development in the area surrounding the Cenderawasih Land.

As long as the OPM still exists in Papua, it is not unlikely that various kinds of damage, atrocities and other inhuman acts, including terror, will continue to haunt many parties, not only the civil society but also the project workers there, so that it is a major challenge that greatly impedes efforts to accelerate development.

While on the other hand, the Government with all its strength and effort continues to do the best only for Papua so that the region can a success, prosperity and also progress in development, but the OPM continued to be a challenge and hinder it with the various opinions that they did.

The Chairman of the People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), Ms. Maharani continues to support and encourage the Government to be able to act very firmly against the OPM.

Moreover, in recent times, they have been carrying out anarchist, brutal and brutal acts of terror, so decisive action is indeed a must when opposed to the enemy separatist gang of the country.

The government has taken very decisive steps and remains comprehensive in resolving the entire problem in Papua so that the interference from the OPM does not repeat itself.

There are anarchist acts of a group of terrorists from the territory of the Little Heavens that fall to Earth must be arrested with very strict law enforcement, as well as take strategic steps.

All the security personnel of the joint forces, both from the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Polri, continued to ensure security and conductivity in all Papua territories and encouraged the optimization of collaboration and cooperation amongst each other in efforts to resolve the conflict in the Land of Cenderawasih.

All the efforts the government is making are for one purpose, namely the safety and well-being of the entire civilian community of Papua Native people (OAP) so that they can feel the impact of the acceleration of development well.

The government’s ongoing development efforts have always been hampered by the OPM’s anarchist tendencies, such as the burning of schools in Okbab District, which should no longer be tolerated because it has seriously interfered with children’s right to education.

The anarchist action must stop immediately because the violence and terror that the separatist gangs are committing not only harms civilian society, but also severely impedes development in Papua, including destroying the future of the descendants of the generation of the Cenderawasih nations.

Nevertheless, in fact, the government, through its security apparatus with its various programmes, has not broken its enthusiasm to help the Papua people improved well-being and progress.

TNI soldiers from the Air Traffic Infantry Battalion (Yonif) 432/WSJ continue to carry out their program entitled ‘Papua Terang’ in Yigi District, Nduga District, Papua Mountains even though the area often receives attacks and intimidation from the OPM.

Post Commander (Danpos) Yigi, Lieutenant One Infantry (Lettu Inf) Gayuh Nanda Prayudin explained that after the attack of the enemy terrorist gang of the country, his side returned to carry out the program Papua Terang in a way together with the local community.

Despite the recent attacks and intimidations of the Yigi District, the government, through the security apparatus, continues to move alongside the people and tribal heads to deal with it.

With the existence of the ‘Papua Shining’ program, making Yigi District can be brighter because there is assistance such as solar light sell from KSAD through Koops Habema TNI to the community and able to help citizens activity, especially during the night so that the people of Papua feel safer and protected.

The government’s latest program in Papua is to build a logistics warehouse in Central Papua Province to anticipate a famine disaster.

Extreme weather conditions such as frostbite or monsoon and prolonged rains continue to be a serious concern of the government because of the freezing of local land and crops.

As a form of anticipation that the famine disaster does not occur, the government through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) built a logistics warehouse where to store food reserves in the Sinak and Agandugume districts.

The Minister for Human and Cultural Development (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy urged the entire community to maximize the plantation to meet their basic needs, then if it is maximized, then the results will be stored in the logistics warehouse and can be distributed to the citizens in the event of a crisis.

In the construction of logistics warehouses alone, there was a horizontal conflict of the people, which turned out to be due to the presence of provocation and propaganda of OPM. Then it was very clear, their existence was only harmful and a major challenge that greatly hampered the efforts of the government in accelerating the development in Papua.
