Choirul Fuadi, Central Kalimantan, CIDISS – Acceleration developing in a territory is determined by people who lived in there. People categorized in some groups, one of them is the young people.
This category is on age between 15 years old till 40 years old. This age period has very potential and productive.
Barito Selatan regency, Central Kalimantan has high number of young people. The number is 46% of amount people in Barito Selatan, 135.553 people.
By this number, government must give them good treatment to faster accelerate the developing of Barito Selatan regency. As we know, the young people are a potential, in fact they will become threat if there is no good treatment, such as trouble of security and orderliness in citizen.
Perceive to this case, the government of Barito Selatan, M Farid Yusran as Regent of Barito Selatan said that government has prepared much activities and programs to people, such as education program.
The program is Sapta Program Pembangunan Barsel (10 Programs developing Barito Selatan) to increase the human resources quality.
The purpose is preparing young generation of Barito Selatan has talented and ready to work. Government built Vocational School in some districts and relevant to nature landscape in there.
Moreover, Government has prepared scholarships for achievement student to continue their study in bachelor degree on Medical Faculty. Government made cooperation with Palangka Raya University (UNPAR) on medical faculty.
“Every year, 3 achievement students get scholarship to continue in that faculty,” said M Farid Yusran (Barito Selatan regent).
Besides that, Government also has scholarship for achievement student who will continue study in Agriculture and Mining faculty. The scholarships are not only for bachelor but also for magister and doctor strata. (*)
