Ahead of Inauguration, Observers Highlight Success of Government Transition and Prabowo-Gibran Priority Programs

Jakarta – The inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka is just a few days away. The peaceful and orderly government transition process is eagerly awaited by all Indonesian people. The presence of President Joko Widodo who always looks compact with President-elect Prabowo ahead of the inauguration is a sign that Indonesia is ready to step into a new chapter with full optimism and stability.

According to political observer Ujang Komarudin, the harmony between President Jokowi and President-elect Prabowo has a positive impact on the domestic political situation.

“This solidarity is very refreshing for the people. The public likes this peaceful atmosphere, because all Indonesian people hope that the transition from the government of President Jokowi – Vice President Ma’ruf to President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran will run safely, peacefully, and orderly,” said Ujang.

Ujang Komarudin said that a stable political situation is very important to maintain a smooth transition and ensure that priority programs can be implemented immediately after President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran officially take office.

“The public hopes that the democratic transition will run peacefully and orderly, because that is the basis for the new government to immediately work and realize its grand visions. Stability is the key to all of this, and we see that this conducive situation is very much liked by the people,” concluded Ujang.

Political stability during the transition is an important factor to ensure that the priority programs of the new government can run well. One of the programs that is awaited is the construction of 1 million apartments per year, which is part of the grand vision of President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran in strengthening housing access for millennials and Gen Z in urban areas.

According to Arief Rahardjo, Director of Strategic Consulting Cushman & Wakefield Indonesia, this program will help young people get affordable housing, especially in urban areas.

“The program to build 1 million apartments per year from President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran can help the millennial generation and Gen Z have affordable housing in urban areas, especially apartments built close to public transportation networks,” said Arief.

The construction of this apartment is also in line with efforts to improve access to better public transportation. The government of President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran is committed to building apartments that are close to public transportation access, such as train stations and bus terminals, so that people can easily do activities and reduce dependence on private vehicles.

In addition, the incoming government also promised to renovate or build 40 houses per village or sub-district per year, which is expected to reach a total of three million houses in the second year of the term of President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran. This step was taken to address housing problems in rural areas while improving the quality of housing for people throughout Indonesia.

Meanwhile, health programs are one of the important priorities for the new government.

Dede Nasrullah, a lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK) UM Surabaya, appreciates the plan of President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran who will provide a budget of Rp 5 trillion for free health check-ups for at least 52 million Indonesians. This program includes tuberculosis (TB) tests which are one of the government’s main focuses in improving public health.

“If the government supports and prioritizes programs related to free medical check-ups, this will greatly help the community. Programs such as the TB test promoted by President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran are a step forward that deserves appreciation,” Dede explained.

With this program, it is hoped that people at all levels, especially in remote areas, can access adequate health services and receive early treatment for infectious diseases such as TB.

The combination of affordable housing programs and free health services is a concrete manifestation of the commitment of President and Vice President-elect Prabowo-Gibran to improve the quality of life of the community. The new government is not only focused on physical development, but also on the health and welfare of the people, especially those in the lower classes.

Of course, the success of these programs depends heavily on the smoothness of the government transition. The unity between President Jokowi and President-elect Prabowo ahead of the inauguration is the key to political stability that is much needed to maintain public trust.
