Jakarta – The government has ensured that national fuel supplies are secure and sufficient ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 2026 and the Eid al-Fitr celebrations. This assurance was conveyed by the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) based on monitoring of energy stocks and distribution in various regions of Indonesia, including disaster-affected areas.
BPH Migas Head Wahyudi Anas stated that nationally, fuel stocks are above the jointly established minimum coverage days (CD) limit. For gasoline, stocks are recorded at over 25 days, while for diesel or gasoil, stocks are above 15 days.
“This condition is considered sufficient to meet public needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026,” said Wahyudi.
He explained that in addition to gasoline and diesel, aviation fuel and kerosene supplies are also secure.
“Thank God, the situation is quite good. Aviation fuel has coverage days of around 29.9 days and kerosene 20.1 days. This means that stocks are sufficient to meet Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” said Wahyudi.
According to Wahyudi, the working visit also discussed national fuel availability and the smooth distribution of subsidized fuel in disaster-affected areas, particularly on Sumatra Island. He emphasized that subsidized fuel stocks and compensation for heavy vehicle needs, post operations, and energy supplies in temporary housing are adequate.
“BPH Migas, along with the assigned business entities, continues to work together to ensure smooth distribution so that community recovery can proceed optimally,” he said.
At the regional level, the North Maluku Branch Leadership Council of the National Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs Association (Hiswana Migas) also ensured a secure supply of fuel and LPG ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. The Head of the North Maluku Hiswana Migas Branch Office, Nasri Abubakar, stated that intensive coordination has been carried out with Pertamina, gas station operators, agents, and LPG depots.
“In general, fuel and LPG stocks are secure, and distribution is running smoothly for households, transportation, and the business sector,” said Nasri.
Nasri added that his office has prepared anticipatory measures to address potential spikes in consumption, including increasing optional supplies and strengthening distribution supervision. He also appealed to the public not to hoard.
“We urge the public to remain calm and purchase according to their needs. If there are any problems, report them immediately so they can be followed up,” he said.
With these various efforts, the government and stakeholders are optimistic that national energy needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 can be met safely, smoothly, and sustainably.
