AMANAH Optimizes the Potential of Young People, Holds the 2024 Barista Champ Competition

ACEH — Youth Creative Hub Aceh (AYCH) or Aneuk Muda Aceh Superior and Great Center Building (AMANAH) is optimizing the potential of Aceh’s young people, one of which is by holding the ‘Barista Champ 2024’ Competition which is the result of collaboration with ASKI (Indonesian Coffee Association) DPD Aceh and BPVP.

It is hoped that the ‘Aceh Barista Champ’ competition will not only channel the interest of Acehnese youth in the art of brewing coffee, but also discover new talents to make Aceh’s name proud in the national and international coffee industry.

This competition began with a strict selection which produced the 48 best participants. They will compete to be one of the 12 finalists who will take part in the Barista Champ coaching clinic.

Person in Charge of the 2024 Aceh Barista Champ Jury Team, Hudaya, explained that the concept of this event is a full barista competition with an assessment system that follows international standards. In addition, this event invites national judges to share their knowledge with local judges.

“The assessment system that we use really follows international standards, and we can invite national judges who ultimately share knowledge, so there is an even distribution of abilities between the national jury and our local judges,” said Hudaya.

The person in charge of the Barista Workshop at BPVP Banda Aceh, Taufiq expressed his high appreciation for the event that AMANAH held.

He believes that AMANAH continues to provide opportunities for local young people to be creative and active.

“To AMANAH, I hope the event will be successful, continue to develop, hold lots of events like this for our young people, because our young people definitely want to be creative and active, to show that Aceh is not remote but advanced,” said Taufiq.

Apart from holding a barista competition, AMANAH also has a program that aims to maximize the marketing of local products to become global, thereby realizing the turning of the regional economy.

Various steps are taking place, including marketing patchouli perfume until the product is ready to compete in the world market.

One of the steps is to carry out a market test of the production of AMANAH’s Patchouli products which took place at the Bhayangkara Fest 2024, Tamah Ratu Safiatuddin. Banda Aceh.

In this program, Creative Patchouli participants have succeeded in producing up to 1,000 samples of perfume products which were distributed during the event.

The main goal is market testing to find out whether the product they produce is ready to compete in the market or still needs further improvements.

With this step, AMANAH has opened up new opportunities to optimize the potential of the patchouli oil industry in the region nicknamed Rencong Country.

According to one member of Patchouli AMANAH, Alvieonnie Niken Marahaini (19) that their product has been well received on the market and is ready to compete.

This can be seen from the fact that as many as 1,000 samples are almost finished and many visitors want to buy their products.

“So far, from the 4 days we have researched, it seems that people are willing to accept patchouli as the core of our perfume. “It seems they have accepted Patchouli as a perfume ingredient,” said Niken.

Amrina Yusra (23) as one of the visitors assessed that the patchouli perfume made by AMANAH’s children could compete with local brands.

“This is suitable, it can compete with local brands too, because the fragrance is also unique, there are also Acehnese specialties, so it’s suitable,” he said.
