AMN Program Develops Student Skills and Intellectuals

Manado – The existence of the Nusantara Student Dormitory in Manado, North Sulawesi Province has received full support from all parties.

Regarding this, the Governor of North Sulawesi, through the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of North Sulawesi Province, Steve Kepel, assessed that the existence of AMN is the responsibility of all parties, both government and private.

“Education is not just the responsibility of the government, but of all parties, including the private sector,” he said

Furthermore, he said that AMN would become a social laboratory for the younger generation.

“Hopefully in the future, AMN Manado will not just be a place to live but also a social, intellectual and entrepreneurial laboratory,” added Steve Kepel.

He also hopes that AMN’s presence in Manado can produce a superior young generation for both North Sulawesi and Indonesia in general.

“We not only produce intelligent students but become a milestone in the educational journey in the North Sulawesi region,” said Steve.

Meanwhile, the Director of Strategic Infrastructure at the Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of PUPR, Essy Asiah, explained that the construction of the Nusantara Student Dormitory in Manado has a green building concept.

“The AMN development has a green building concept, and in the future with green buildings, we hope that operations and maintenance will be better,” he concluded.

AMN is a form of President Jokowi’s concrete commitment to the aspirations of 50 Papuan figures on 10 September 2019 at the State Palace. At that time, Papuan leaders wanted the construction of a student dormitory that could become a candradimuka crater for the young generation across cultures.

Following up on this, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) was then assigned by President Jokowi to be a catalyst for the development of the AMN and the Head of State then issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 106 of 2021 concerning the Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) as the basis for the construction of this dormitory.
