Anarchist Demonstration Harms Many Parties

Demonstrations that led to anarchist actions involving many students were considered difficult for the community. In addition to triggering damage to public facilities, anarchist demonstrations also hamper transportation and interfere with the interests of the wider community. Educational institutions and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) are asked to be more active in supervising their students.

Lately we are often treated to demonstrations. The action, which is considered as one form of voicing the aspirations of the people, is very familiar with many people. Demonstrations are rallies consisting of a number of people, groups, communities and alliances that have the same aim to express their opinions. Can also convey the pros and cons related to something that happens in the country.

Indeed this is a form of sound delivery that is quite attractive. Students and students take to the streets, complete with various attributes to support their actions. Some shouted slogans, even funny meme sentences with the intention of being sarcastic. However, no doubt the clash coloring the voices of this aspiration. Many victims, shortness of breath, fatigue to bleeding often adorn the events took to the streets. For the sake of what? For the sake of the country, solidarity, welfare also for the sake of others.

Unfortunately, this is often tarnished by the actions that led to anarchism. The demonstration, which started well, was neat and safe, was out of control. Destruction of public facilities, shophouses and houses of the people were targeted. In the end, the apparatus was deployed, clashing in sequence to swallow the victim, what a shame isn’t it?

Same with the incident that occurred in the Makassar area, precisely in the South Sulawesi DPRD building. The action, which was dominated by students and students, was allegedly showing their axis as a form of rejection of the revised KPK Law and the RKUHP. Sadly, again this action led to a clash, and ended with the security of a number of demo participants. According to various sources, not only students but also hundreds of students were also secured.

In the Medan area, it was mentioned that there were a number of students found carrying dangerous goods in their bags. Namely, two Molotov cocktails, according to the statement of AKBP Sonny Siregar, as Kasat Sabhara Polrestabes Medan. In other places, like Pamekasan, one of the junior high school students admitted that they did not understand the meaning of the word revolution.
Although, he joined shouting these words in front of the Pamekasan DPDRD along with thousands of other students. The junior high school student also stated that he was not afraid that the teacher would give sanctions for joining in the demonstration
The same news also came from Cianjur, hundreds of vocational students in Cianjur, West Java province, secured at the Cianjur Police Headquarters.

They were netted when they were about to leave for Jakarta to take part in the demonstration. This fact makes the Office of Education, especially schools get criticism related to students involved in student action. One of them is from KPAI (Indonesian National Commission for Child Protection). KPAI hopes that the Ministry of Education and Culture will circulate explicitly to ask the head of the Education Office to immediately anticipate this mass action. So the school principal can be ordered to follow up.

According to Dr. Drajat Tri Kartono.M.Si, the explosion of uniformed students, even up to elementary school also took part in a demonstration, it could also be caused by the urge to prove their existence. Especially student demonstrations that are thick with critical action as a student movement, also again viral on social media are considered to be able to be a stage of self-proof for these students. According to him, the act of anarchism of students during the demonstration even indicated a weakness in the educational order.

Drajat also added that the school should be the most responsible part of the anarchist actions which the students had taken during the demonstration. Of course, the Ministry and these schools are not enough to just forbid or appeal. However, it must provide democratic education early on. Which later these students will be able to distribute political rights properly, correctly, and peacefully. Especially when there is a disagreement with the state. By applying this teaching on how to express opinions without violence, students will be able to appreciate differences and criticism, which also needs to be conceived in the future.

Being an agent of change is certainly not wrong, but in this case it is certainly difficult for the community as well. Because the demonstration which included some to many students would be judged as a provocation and violation. Bearing in mind, these students have not yet taken to the streets to participate in the aspirational voice action. Therefore, self-awareness and being able to sort out which positive things we need to follow is imperative. Also avoid all forms of negative actions, including demonstrations that led to anarchism of this kind.
