Appreciating the successful synergy of security forces in securing the 79th Indonesian Independence Day at IKN

All TNI-Polri security forces and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) have succeeded in establishing synergy in securing the National Capital (IKN) of the archipelago in order to maintain stability and security during the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). The celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which took place on August 17 required a lot of security and careful preparation. The reason is, the event brought many important guests.
Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that his personnel joined and collaborated with Kodam VI/Mulawarman in implementing VIP and VVIP security activities. Furthermore, he explained that regarding VIP and VVIP security, the East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Regional Police and their staff had deployed approximately 1,013 personnel who were divided into seven task forces.
Apart from that, they also added the Balikpapan Police and North Penajam Paser Police (PPU) in routine activities which were increasingly being increased. VVIP security is the task of Kodam VI/Mulawarman and the Military Commander as Regional Security Task Force Commander. Meanwhile, the East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief is the Task Force Commander.
In order to increase security and comfort during the Republic of Indonesia’s 79th Anniversary event, security is not only carried out for invited guests, but there are also efforts to prevent and mitigate natural disasters.
On the other hand, on the route to IKN, Trunoyudo explained that his party deployed personnel to carry out traffic engineering activities, personnel occupying road intersections and setting up police posts at points prone to traffic jams. It is hoped that invited guests or VIP guests will not be hampered by traffic jams on their way to the ceremony venue, namely at IKN.
In securing this traffic, the National Police deployed 898 personnel to secure and guard traffic routes and parking (Task Force Pamwal Rolakir). The vehicles also prepared for security and escort are 87 four-wheeled vehicles and 31 two-wheeled vehicles. All vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, have also been thoroughly checked and ensured that they are all in a condition that is ready for use.
In order to create security stability and public order, the National Police also fully supports the security and sustainability of IKN development through all police functions and collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.
As a symbol of the synergy between the TNI and Polri in maintaining security and order in the IKN area, joint patrols were also carried out, namely the East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Nanang Avianto and the VI Mulawarman Military Commander, Major General Tri Budi Utomo.
Head of Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, Kombes Yuliyanto, said that all the preparations that had been made previously were aimed at making the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony a success and a source of pride for all Indonesian people. Meanwhile, other preparations that have been made include cyber prevention and security at the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN. The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) stated that they were making several efforts to ward off cyber attacks.
BSSN Spokesperson, Ariandi Putra, previously appealed to the public to be alert to cyber attacks, such as online fraud, theft of personal or institutional data, server or network attacks and other attacks so that they strengthen their respective security systems. Because, this protection must also be carried out by individuals themselves to avoid things that could potentially harm society.
According to him, during national and international events, electronic systems must be involved as part of the security chain. Apart from that, BSSN continues to secure cyber space so that it is free from interference and the event can run smoothly. However, collaboration with all stakeholders is very important to avoid potential cyber space disruption.
In securing the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN on August 17 this time, BSSN has also formed an internal task force (Satgas) consisting of 4 teams, namely, the Cyber Operations Task Force, the Information Control Task Force, the Cipher Operations Task Force, and the Public Communications Task Force. They are each tasked with providing information and literacy to the public, as well as coordinating with relevant stakeholders such as the Ministry of Communication and Information, TNI, Polri, BIN, and other related ministries.
Nevertheless, BSSN also continues to coordinate with event organizers including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for international events and the General Election Commission (KPU) for regional elections.
For cyberspace security, collaboration with various parties is very important. The anticipatory steps taken by BSSN can maintain cyber security during the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration at IKN so that the event can run successfully.
The importance of maintaining security and conduciveness during the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia is carried out in various efforts and involving all relevant stakeholders so that the event runs smoothly and successfully without any obstacles. The Indonesian government also continues to strive to maintain the conduciveness of society so that it is not consumed by fake news and maintains local environmental security and also cyber security.
