As part of the commitment to build Indonesia Emas 2045, President Prabowo’s policy to continue the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) shows real steps and consistency in realizing this vision. In continuing the development of the IKN, President Prabowo not only respects the basic planning that has been designed by the previous government, but also shows that national development is a joint project involving all components of the nation for the common welfare.
The development of the IKN is expected to not only be a symbol of national pride, but also reflect the distribution of development that can support growth outside Java, and provide a positive economic effect for all of Indonesia. This is because the sustainability of the development of the IKN is a symbol of the unification of the national vision, which prioritizes economic equality, regional development, and reducing inequality between regions.
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), stated that President Prabowo is very focused on completing the development of the core area of the government center in the IKN, which includes executive, legislative, and judicial facilities. This decision shows a clear direction that the center of government will soon be moved in stages, and the main infrastructure will be completed soon. President Prabowo realizes that these facilities are very important to support government functions, and his commitment to ensuring the completion of the development of the government center in the IKN is a real step towards realizing a more efficient and decentralized government.
In addition, Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU), Diana Kusumastuti, also supported this commitment by stating that President Prabowo directly conveyed that development in the IKN be continued without any obstacles. This is important considering that a large project like the IKN requires certainty and consistency from the highest leader to run according to plan. Direct support from the President provides a positive signal to stakeholders and investors that the development of the IKN will continue until completion, thus encouraging trust to support this project.
In an effort to accelerate development, Acting Head of the Indonesian Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, revealed that President Prabowo instructed that important projects, including main buildings such as the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), the People’s Representative Council (DPR), the Constitutional Court (MK), and other judicial buildings, be built immediately. The existence of these facilities is expected to be completed in the next two years, which is an ambitious but realistic target under Prabowo’s leadership. With the completion of these buildings, the government will have an adequate control center to carry out government functions optimally, as well as increase the effectiveness of the bureaucracy in the new location.
President Prabowo’s firm move to continue the development of the IKN gives a strong signal that this project is part of Indonesia’s long-term vision, not only for the interests of the present, but for the future of the nation. In the long term, the IKN is expected to become a new center of civilization that is able to create jobs, strengthen the regional economy, and become a center of innovation for the young generation of Indonesia which is the embodiment of the desire to build a more even, balanced, and highly competitive Indonesia on the global stage.
President Prabowo’s commitment to accelerate the development of the IKN shows great responsibility in continuing the ideals of national development. With the support of related ministries and synergy between the central and regional governments, it is hoped that the IKN can be a catalyst for the development of the surrounding areas, especially Kalimantan, which has so far been less affected by major development flows. In addition, infrastructure development in the IKN is believed to be able to drive economic growth through strategic sectors, such as property, construction, and technology, which will have a direct impact on the welfare of the community around the IKN and nationally.
President Prabowo understands the importance of creating sustainability and continuity in the development of the IKN in order to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, this policy is not just a continuation of the previous government’s project, but a form of dedication and responsibility in ensuring that Indonesia is able to prepare for a better future. The decision to focus on completing government facilities confirms that the IKN is not just a discourse, but a reality that continues to be realized step by step.
By ensuring the smooth development of the IKN, President Prabowo contributed to the birth of more efficient governance, shortened the bureaucratic chain, and encouraged more collaboration between the central and regional governments, as well as being an important step in efforts to realize an effective government that is able to protect all levels of society without exception.
With this spirit, President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia will continue to move forward, leaving behind various inequalities, and moving towards a new era where progress and prosperity are no longer just dreams. The sustainability of the development of the IKN is real proof that Indonesia is ready to face the future, and President Prabowo, with his vision and commitment, has ensured that the nation’s ideals of having a modern and inclusive capital city can be achieved. The development of the IKN is a symbol of national awakening that will continue to grow and develop along with the strong determination of the government and all elements of the nation to build a more advanced, equitable, and just Indonesia.
