Jakarta – The security measures implemented by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), TNI, and Polri during the 2024 Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) which took place from 5-6 September 2024 received widespread appreciation.
Not only ISF, the solidity of the three institutions also includes facing the important visit of Pope Francis. In the state security operation, as many as thousands of joint personnel from various security elements were deployed.Regarding this, the Commander of the Indonesian Police Mobile Brigade Corps, Commissioner General Imam Widodo, said that 4,730 police personnel were deployed to secure the entire series of activities.”We involve everything from preventive elements to anti-terrorism as well. We involve everyone,” said Imam.Not only that, the National Police also deployed troops to regulate traffic engineering to avoid congestion at the event locations.Tight security is in place at all strategic locations related to the ISF, including monitoring state guests and international delegations attending.Meanwhile, Pangkogabwilhan I Vice Admiral TNI, Agus Hariadi, also said that the security implemented uses VVIP standards, especially to protect the state leaders who are present.”We implement a VVIP security system involving TNI personnel and adequate defense equipment to prevent potential disturbances during the event. Starting from TNI troops to Paspampres, everything is in accordance with international security standards,” he explained.The success of securing ISF 2024 has received praise from various parties, including the government and international delegations who felt safe and comfortable during the event. With solid security, Indonesia has once again demonstrated its capacity to maintain security in an important international forum.
