The role and full support that has been given by Budi Gunawan as General Chair of the Indonesian Esport Management (PBESI) to the Indonesian DOTA 2 National Team at the IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 event has been maximized. With all the support for these facilities, it is not impossible that the target of the overall champion is still very attainable and wide open.
Recently the game of the Indonesian National Team (Timnas) Defenses Of The Ancients (DOTA 2) has continued to record very significant developments. How could it not be, because the Indonesian National Team was even able to keep up with the game from the Philippine Team, which incidentally is one of the best teams in the DOTA 2 event in Southeast Asia.
It is undeniable that the game presented by the Indonesian DOTA 2 National Team is indeed very riveting. Regarding this matter, the Head of the Refereeing and Coaching Division of the Indonesian Esports Council (PBESI), Christian Surjadi stated that the association that oversees the electronic sports ecosystem in the country is very proud of the neat performance that the Indonesian National Team has successfully presented.
Even though they were facing one of the strongest DOTA teams in Southeast Asia, in fact all Indonesian National Team players did not lack confidence at all. They are full of optimism so they can keep up with the game from the Philippines. According to Christian, this means showing how much potential and how great the capabilities of Indonesian esports athletes are.
It should be noted that previously there was an extraordinary match in DOTA 2 at the IESF Bali 14th World Esports Championships 2022, which brought together the Indonesian National Team and the Philippine Team. The match was so exciting that it made all the spectators who were present in person at Merusaka Bali feel very amazed. It can be seen that not a few of the spectators immediately shouted and cheered to continue to provide support for the Indonesian National Team.
In fact, it wasn’t just spectators who came in person to see the match, but the number of viewers who were there and took part in the game online was as many as 20 thousand spectators. Of course, this number cannot be said to be small at all, and represents the enthusiasm of the entire Indonesian people.
Thanks to the enthusiasm given by all the spectators who were present in person and those who broadcast online, the Indonesian DOTA 2 National Team tried very hard to be able to present a very stunning game so that in the first round match, they were able to beat the Philippines Team with total kills. reach 30-15.
The victory that was won by the Indonesian National Team in the match in the first round occurred because there was a mistake made by the Philippine Team, so that Indonesian athletes were able to take advantage of the golden momentum to steal victory points.
But unfortunately, the final result that happened was not too satisfying, so in the future, the Indonesian DOTA 2 National Team must refocus and make more mature preparations to compete in the Lower Bracket event against the Kazakhstan Team.
It can be seen how the mentality of all Indonesian esports players who competed in the IESF Bali 14 th WEC 2022 is very strong. This of course did not just happen, because the support and role given by Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan as General Chairperson of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) was very large in being able to guarantee that all these athletes would continue to make achievements on the international stage.
Regarding the preparation regarding the mentality of all athletes, even the PBESI itself has carried out various kinds of coaching to the fullest from technical to non-technical aspects. Because if only the technical aspects are concerned, of course the mentality of the players will not be as strong and tough in facing all the challenges and situations that will occur in the future.
The management of PBESI in the era of Budi Gunawan’s leadership has indeed brought many positive impacts and also changes in a much better direction for the development of the esports ecosystem in Indonesia. In fact, since he was first inaugurated, he has immediately had a lot of very strategic schemes and steps to guide esports to develop.
Not a few of these strategic steps have been actualized in the form of regulations to regulate Indonesian esports so that in the future it can be much more focused so that Indonesian athletes can score lots of achievements. According to him, PBESI itself as an association that accommodates Indonesian esports must be able to play a role at the forefront in facing all kinds of challenges for the advancement of electronic sports.
PB ESI chairman Budi Gunawan has also given direct instructions to all Indonesian esports teams competing at the IESF Bali 14 th WEC 2022 so that they can continue to make as many achievements as possible, not only being successful in being the organizer or host of the event, but it is hoped that the Indonesian National Team can gain a lot of wins so that they can become the overall champion.
Of course, the target of the overall champion owned by the Indonesian National Team itself is still very wide open. The reason is, in DOTA 2 matches alone, this Indonesian champion still has the chance to compete in the Lower Bracket event against Kazakhstan after showing a very stunning performance in his game against the Philippines Team. All the enthusiasm that is owned by the Indonesian National Team cannot be separated from the role and full support of Budi Gunawan as the General Chairperson of PB ESI.
