Carving Out Various Achievements, Budi Gunawan Re-elected as General Chair of PB ESI

 Jakarta – Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) General of Police (ret.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, SH., M.Sc., Ph.D., PSM was re-elected as the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI) for the 2024-2029 period. Budi Gunawan was elected after a series of activities at the National Sports Conference and the PB ESI National Coordination Meeting on Sunday (6/10).

In his speech, Budi Gunawan said that globally, the reach of e-sports has grown very rapidly, because this sport is very popular with many people.

“The global reach of e-sports is currently growing very rapidly, the latest data shows that the e-sports audience has reached more than 577 million people in 2024,” said Budi Gunawan.

Budi Gunawan also appreciated the management of PB ESI for the 2020-2024 period, because it has made various proud achievements, both nationally and internationally.

“In the era of the PB Esports Indonesia management for the 2020-2024 period, many achievements and accomplishments have been made, both at the national and international levels,” said Budi Gunawan.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman 3 of KONI, Major General TNI (ret.) Andri Sutarno appreciated PB ESI under the leadership of Budi Gunawan, for successfully advancing e-sports in Indonesia.

“I express my highest appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Budi Gunawan and his staff, especially the E-sports Indonesia Executive Board for the first term of office, who have greatly advanced the history of e-sports in the country,” said Andri.

Then Andri also hopes that Indonesian e-sports will be more advanced in the future, and can make Indonesia proud in the international arena.

“The solidarity of administrators at the national, provincial, regional and community levels must continue to improve its quality through inclusive collaboration programs, ongoing competitions and training must also continue to be realized,” said Andri.
