Jakarta — The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has affirmed its commitment to supporting public welfare by disbursing IDR 130 trillion in financing for the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program in the housing sector.
Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, stated that Danantara’s commitment to supporting the public housing program demonstrates the Republic of Indonesia’s strong independence and its ability to stand on its own two feet.
“I have discussed with the President that our ministry does not require foreign loans; we have no foreign loans this year. This is a very rational decision and proves that Indonesia is capable of standing on its own two feet,” said Maruarar.
Maruarar said that his office is currently formulating a scheme to ensure the disbursement of the IDR 130 trillion injection from Danantara within the next six months.
“Because this is a mid-year policy. It’s already June. So we have to prepare strong human resources who are clean, professional, have integrity, are competent, and can work in the field,” said Maruarar.
Danantara’s support for the 3 Million Houses Program is a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto. Maruarar explained that President Prabowo requested that the housing sector also be able to develop without relying on foreign loans.
“Because Mr. Prabowo’s principle is that we stand on our own two feet. We also have investment, which is very good, but we also have the extraordinary Danantara, which has earned international trust. For example, the Emir of Qatar is also ready to invest and join us; that is an example of trust,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Danantara Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rosan Roeslani, said that his company has spoken with Himbara banks, Bank Syariah Indonesia, and BTN to provide funding for housing to be built by the Ministry of PKP.
“By the end of this year, we’ve calculated that it could reach approximately IDR 130 trillion, and of course, we’ve finalized the scheme, and it can be implemented immediately,” said Rosan.
This housing project is a crucial one, as directed by President Prabowo, and must be supported by all parties.
“The banks themselves are also very happy, because they have collateral in the form of the houses they will be financing. We will also provide the financing with favorable interest subsidies, and we will begin the process immediately,” Rosan explained.
